This was always my go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Lowell. The service here is usually pretty good and the wait staff are very friendly. Yesterday I ordered a bunch of food and 1 of them was pho special. My husband went to pick it up and brought it home for me to eat (because I was sick). After finishing half of the noodle soup, I noticed something floating in it. I looked closer and noticed it was a tiny cockroach 🪳 floating in there. Aaargh, IT WAS DEFINITELY DISGUSTING! This is not the 1st time I saw cockroach there. I saw it crawling in the buffet table before the pandemic. I mentioned it to the waitstaff and thought they took care of it...I guess they didn't. FYI: My house does not have cockroaches or any bugs

Delicious pho. I decided to try the combo plate and the spare ribs were pretty much ALL fat. The crab rangoons were decent but nothing special, same with the egg rolls. The fried rice was good. For $13.50 for the combo plate it was decent. As I was checking out I noticed a $0.50 charge for a take out container. Kinda crazy they charge that since it was a take out order. Not sure why they charge that, am I supposed to bring my own Tupperware? Kinda odd if you ask me. The Tom Yum was pretty good. I don’t think I’d get the combo plate again but it wasn’t horrible. I tried the egg soda and it was very delicious! I want to try their soups again but maybe I’ll bring my own bowl next time….jk

Old school family owned. Authentic Thai cuisine. My cousin and I shared Bon Rieu which is a seafood noodle soup with shrimp and crab. Incredible. Papaya salad was amazing. Chicken wings so crispy. Beef Laab was so flavorful and perfect texture (if you know what I mean). I had a Thai iced tea and my cousin had the egg soda. It was like a creme brûlée beverage - so refreshing! Definitely go for an early dinner because the place gets packed after work. We went at 3:30 and there was a steady flow of customers dining in and grabbing take out. You can see why it’s a pillar in the community!

Ordered number 45. Soup was amazing and the mango smoothie was so good I ordered a second. I didn’t specify that I wanted to eat in the restaurant so when they gave me my order to go I asked to sit and eat he was very accommodating and served my meal with all the utensils and was just extremely polite and made me feel good. There are always lots of people coming in and eating at this restaurant. It is a pleasant and clean place to sit and eat. I very rarely write reviews for businesses however Viet-Thai is an exception because I had a great experience there.

Food I've had here is pretty good but the service needs more improvement - though the staff are generally friendly, they are slow to serve, such as requests for checks, extra sauces or utensils... Edit: upon entering, I was hesitant because of a weird bathroom smell wafting in throughout the restaurant and lack on AC in a hot humid day. However, the noodles were still tasty and delicious. They also were good at making sure our orders were correct despite our modifications to the dish, which was greatly appreciated!

Delish pho. But I will never return. The check was $43.77. But I was charged $45.08. I asked why I am charged different prices. The server said there is a credit card fee. Unacceptable. This should be informed before customers are being charged. Hidden fee is an old- fashioned way of doing business. On the check they have space to suggest tips from 22% to 18% but not letting customers know about the service fee !?!? It’s kinda weird to me. Put up the sign and let customers know. Don’t be sketchy!
