Really pleasantly surprised from the start. My girlfriend had described it to me as a dive bar with some sort of oldies cover band. My expectations were low.
We noticed they had an outdoor space with lots of room, lights and a cover if it rains and you're off the sidewalk. This is not a quiet street but you're in Lowell not Little House on the Prairie. Really nice inside and not jammed in. There was only one table for two when we arrived and it was right by the door in what might become the dance floor and I asked to sit outside and here's where the W & W went above and beyond:
Prices are reasonable, we were drinking thus the per person cost.
*First off, ask for Chris, he was awesome! *They moved our table outside where there was lots of space. *We were directly outside with an amazing view of the band. *I was not expecting cloth napkins and silverware, 'Dive Bar', right?. *Water came immediately and thank you. *Excellent Manhattans, my girlfriend recommends and this is her drink. *Fantastic Chambord Margaritas, that's my drink. Then it got epic, I ordered 'Popcorn' shrimp and fries. *First off, while the fries are battered, they were crisp and burning hot. *I love crispy hot fries that burn my tongue for the first few. *These were large in house shrimp, not little popcorn shrimp. Lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. *Portions were generous and OMG, ketchup, salt and pepper all in advance. I'm so sick of asking after my food arrives.
Through it all Chris checked up on us throughout and noticed where we were as well as what all his tables needed. We never had to ask for more water. Lots of street parking while we were there and lots to watch. Let's just say it was an exciting evening with loud motorcycles and flashing blue lights throughout, we were well...
Read moreI came there for an event this weekend. The venue was packed; while waiting for a beverage, I was aggressively told “I could not be standing in the aisle - while there was no where else to stand”; I was merely trying to order a beverage, and because of the rudeness; I advised the group of 8 that I was with to leave and go elsewhere which we did. One small piece of advice I can offer is either have appropriate standing room to order a beverage or have somebody (a host or such - at the door; indicating that you are at capacity at the moment and that it would be a short wait rather than let everybody in only for staff to become rude to. I understand with Covid and what not businesses are changing daily, but the most important thing is treating your customers respectfully. I advised the server to “relax”; while this is no longer a popular thing to do - it was warranted. The server then responded with an attitude saying “it’s my job - don’t tell me to relax”. It’s not your job to be rude, it’s your job to ensure customers feel welcome - and if they are in a bad spot or are in the way; find them a spot to stand or advise to move to a different less congested spot- which after that little ordeal I didn’t feel welcome and left. I usually never leave a negative review or have any issues with customer service. This was that situation where I felt it was necessary to...
Read moreThe warp and weft is for the classy gentlemen and ladies of the night that would like to enjoy a night of real fun one with music good food and amazing service i tasted their equivalent of a buffalo chicken pizza and the taste was superb that perfect crunch with moist but delicate chicken that was encompassed with a varying of different sauces that enveloped me like a warm blanket this filled my pallet with rage that i had not had it before because it was so quintessence to the many 3$ Narraganset I had drunken later with my I Am The Liquor T-shirt. It is to note that their liquor menu is extensive and purposefully so the many IPAs and hard 8-9% alcohol content beers they showed looked superb and will have to be part of my next visit. The mood was sad because of the loss of a good friend Adam Gregoire a chieftain and warrior among us simple men but yet we danced so hard our ankles did bleed because i am still looking at the scars upon them, they allowed the dancing so much so they started to move the tables for us all so that the rage could become reality while we sang together like a melody of angels to reach our beloved friend so yes 5 out of 5 forks to the warp and weft Brian Francis cote aka the beast approves...
