Overall: The restaurant has excellent food and reasonable prices, but the service was chaotic with multiple servers and errors. As this restaurant is new I would recommend to anyone visiting to give it another month or two to work out any kinks of a new restaurant opening and to also check any take-home boxes before leaving.
Cocktails: I had a lemon and lime mocktail that was quite good and, priced at $5-6, was very reasonably priced!
Food: For our appetizer, my husband and I opted for the Bacon Deviled Eggs. The bacon was absolutely incredible! The overall dish was enjoyable, though the egg filling was just average for me. I’m a deviled egg enthusiast with particular preferences for the filling. We were also taken aback to find jalapeño slices on the eggs, as this wasn’t mentioned on the paper menu we had. Checking the online menu, it was visible in the photo, but we aim to stay device-free on date nights, so we missed that detail when ordering. Consequently, I had to remove the jalapeños from mine, as I can’t tolerate spicy food.
For my entree, I chose the Wood Grilled NY Strip with the butter garlic thyme add-on and port mushrooms on the side. The steak was cooked to perfection, a rare treat for me at a restaurant, and the butter topping was absolutely divine! However, the port mushrooms were a bit average. I think a sprinkle of steak seasoning would have enhanced their flavor. Despite this, I would definitely order this again!
My husband tried the Firebirds Durango Burger with tater tots on the side and absolutely loved it. He mentioned that he would definitely order it again.
Service: During our meal, our server didn’t check on us once while we were eating our entrees, which was quite odd. Our server was really nice, but they seemed to want us to order everything at once, which made us feel rushed. Given that a meal at this restaurant costs $50 per person, we expected to spend about 2-3 hours there. But outside of our server, the service was a bit chaotic. We had different people bringing us our appetizers, drinks, and food, none of whom were our original server. At one point, we had three different people at our table! I’m not sure why the restaurant owner or manager is using this approach, but it seemed like items were getting missed. We were told that our appetizer was initially sent to the wrong table, which is why it was late. Later, we ordered chocolate cake to go but discovered today that we actually received someone else’s leftover pasta instead (that was quite an unpleasant discovery). We’re planning to call in later today when the restaurant opens to see if we can get the item we paid for.
If management reads this, I would recommend having the same servers deliver the food who are receiving the initial order as that may cause less errors and confusion among...
Read morePlace is brand spanking new and aesthetically appealing. We had reservations through open table for a Monday evening the day before New Year’s Eve otherwise, there would definitely have been at least a half hour to 45 minute wait. The place is loud so, if you’re looking for a romantic dinner for two? Skip it because it’s like literally eating in the kitchen. The waiter was nice enough, friendly & upbeat. We ordered their signature double black diamond cocktails. The servers pour in front of you at the table. The drinks were meh. Nothing to write home about. My second drink was an espresso martini. It didn’t look gourmet or delicious by any means, no coffee bean garnish or foam on top however, I could recognize that there was liquor in this drink. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. It came out lukewarm. The cup is tiny. It tasted like carrot soup, not a hint of chicken or Mexican spice-zip. The bread that comes out for the table is also tiny, flat and could never satisfy two let alone four people as a starter or appetite inducer, they could do MUCH better for what they charge to dine there. My company had a salad to start and it just looked like lettuce swimming in mayonnaise. I didn’t see any bacon in it. We both had steaks, she the NY strip and I, the sirloin. They were OK. Of course, we had to order mushrooms and grilled onions which is extra, to make it taste like anything. No steak sauce or ketchup on the table so, I think that they’re under an illusion about their food having a decent amount of flavor not requiring additional condiments. The potatoes au gratin tasted like baked potatoes in velveeta at best and at first they brought out mashed potatoes which really didn’t look tasty again no parsley garnish or paprika, zero. Portion sizes were small in all cases and nothing was delicious except for the server but I’d even pass on seeing him again at that cost for dinner. A small salad , tiny cup of soup, 4 mediocre drinks, two 6 oz steak and potato dishes with a 20% tip came to approximately $170.00. I may go again and that’s a BIG MAYBE-but for bar seating only during happy hour. That might possibly prove venturing to this spot...
Read moreI recently had the Prix Fixe dinner here with five friends, and let me tell you, the service was top-notch! The staff was super attentive and friendly.
I started with a Sangria, but it was way too sweet for my taste. It was like drinking fruit syrup. I’m not a big drinker, and even a glass of wine usually makes me feel a bit dizzy, but this Sangria didn’t do anything to me. My friends had different drinks and agreed that the pour was a bit off.
The appetizers were great - the deviled eggs were delicious, and the salads (mixed green salad and Caesar) were fresh and tasty.
The dessert was also pretty good (Bread Pudding, Crème Brûlée, and Cheese Cake). All the portions were generous, which was nice.
But here’s where things went downhill for two of us. We both ordered steak; I asked for medium, and my friend asked for medium-rare. All I needed to do was touch it and knew it was well done. I had originally asked for medium-rare, hoping for medium, but the waiter said they were really good with temperature, and my friends said it was a steakhouse, so I listened. Well, they were all wrong. My friend’s steak was supposed to be medium-rare, but it was more dead than mine! They apologized and bought us two new steaks. Her steak was cooked as it should have been, but it tasted sour. Mine was as well done as the first time - it was like eating liver - grainy. As for the asparagus, they were overcooked, and the mashed potatoes were like glue, obviously put in a mixer (cardinal sin!).
Truthfully, I went there because my friend picked it for her birthday. I didn’t know much about it, so I ordered a steak because they’re supposed to be a steakhouse. They’re no Capital Grill, and to be honest, that’s where I go to have a decent steak. They were actually worse than Outback!! And to add insult to injury, they didn’t take it off the bill. Had it not been for my friends, I would have made them remove it.
All in all, it wasn’t worth the price. So, I won’t...
