TLDR; The first real lunch spot in all of Yardley. Atmosphere unlike anything from Newtown-Yardley-New Hope area. Get the French Onion Soup. Niko's used to have my favorite cocktails, but has been dethroned. [Full Review] Finally. Living in this area certainly has its perks; There are amazing restaurants everywhere. Unfortunately, they all share one thing. They feel like dinner spots. And initially, I did go to La Grange for Dinner; Duck breast, oysters, French martinis, steak and scotch. The whole deal. The food was absolutely fantastic, to be expected from anywhere in Yardley, however, a cuisine you're not going to find anywhere else in town. Semi-exotic, but approachable dishes, a true 'something for everyone' kind of menu, but with the far end of the scale turned up *just* a bit, to include escargot and beef tartar. The expression of the restaurant lives in those interesting corners of the menu. But...finally, in Yardley, we have a good all day restaurant. It's something special. For my second visit, I took my Mom up for lunch. We got the French Onion, and Potato Leek soup, the Croque Madame, and Parisian Sandwich. Wow. We sat back and chatted while sipping on our drinks. Daylight from all sides of our table, quiet cafe music playing over the speakers. The room is a mix of bright whites and golds, reflecting and amplifying the natural light coming in through the full floor-to-ceiling windows encapsulating the entire room. Hidden details, like the original barn walls, trick you into thinking the place has been there for 100 years. What an amazing experience. You can find lunch around town; Con tavern, Vault, maybe Nikos on occasion. But most places are closed until the dinner seating. Even if you do make your way somewhere for lunch, normally, your menu is a mishmash of second class menu choices. Quick prep salads, chicken fingers. Maybe a few sandwiches on the menu, stale coffee. Forget about 'lunch atmosphere'. These are bars during the day. La Grange treats lunch like a first class meal, and I am so here for it. We've been conditioned to eat lunch like fueling up at the pump. Get in, get your calories, get out, go back to work. La Grange offers something else; Real lunch food, in an absolutely enchanting, fresh and bright atmosphere, that is so fairly priced, I don't know how they get away with it. I recommend; start with Lunch. Ask to sit on the right side, (the Atrium). Bring your Mom. Get the French Onion Soup. Have a drink. Service is a little slow right now, but they've been open for all of one week. Find me a place that's running like a well oiled machine after one week, and that's where I'll go next.

We did a Friday night reservation for 6:45. We arrived at 6 so we could have a drink at the bar. The atmosphere is very nice. There are several different seating options and two bars. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were plenty of seats available to grab a drink beforehand. The bartender was very nice and made great drinks. I would absolutely come just to have cocktails and/or apps at the bar. We could have just stayed there but we did take our table at 6:45. I previously read that the tables are way too small and that was true. A table for two is a small round bistro style table. Ultimately our waiter made it work. Our waiter was wonderful. Knowledgeable, very pleasant, just the right amount of attention without being overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our service. We did bone marrow with baguette, lyonnaise salad, clams, duck and coq au vin. I enjoyed most dishes very much but felt the coq au vin lacked in flavor and richness. It could use a little more salt/butter/wine/herb and then time to develop the flavors it typically has. The sauce was thin so perhaps more time. We were so full that we had to skip dessert but the offerings looked amazing! We sat outside with some wine after dinner which was very nice to watch the sun set. I initially thought they should have put up some arborvitae or something along the roadway to create a more relaxing environment and make it feel removed from a major roadway but it was actually still nice. Maybe it was the time of night but we weren’t bothered by the cars while sitting outside and the space did seem peaceful. Ultimately we would absolutely return. I love the interior, the drinks, the service and a good portion of the meal. I look forward to trying other items and watching them improve!

My review is after two visits to this restaurant, so i am fairly confident on my review. If you are looking to explore a new restaurant in the area, sure go ahead and try it. But if you are reading this review to decide if you should spend $$$ on a new restaurant, skip this one. Being a new restaurant it certainly has a nice vibe, however the chairs on the left side, the overflow area, are so bad that my butt was hurting after the 2 hours of having dinner there. Its like they dont want you to sit there for long. Now to food, the food is mediocre, at best. We ordered muscles and many mussels had sand in them. They could easily use PEI mussels, for the price they charge. The baguette was like any ordinary bread you would get at Giants or Shoprite. The snails were also ok. Trout was decent. The server suggested to get the salad with goat cheese croquette. She said the croquette will break and the cheese flows out and its delicious. Well the croquette was like a flat burger and didn't have enough cheese to burst open and spread. Now to service. Very very poor. The furst time around the server never changed our plate and we ended up eating on a 4" round black plate, yiu can see it in the picture. The second time we went there the server took my drink order but walked away from the table. The other guest was shocked and was gazing at him with questioning look on what happened also they served us the special salad but without any utensils to serve it!!! For them to call this a French restaurant is very misleading. The restaurant is loud, other reviews have said that too, and the music is hard core US, and loud. They won't see me again. I will be surprised if they last for one year, unless they make changes.

My husband and I went to La Grange for our anniversary, after having to cancel another reservation at a very popular restaurant in New Hope, due to the weather.

It was a Saturday evening and at 7 PM. I called to see if we could get a table and they said it would be no problem to seat us, so we went right over. When we got there, we noticed many empty tables, which we thought was strange for a Saturday evening at 7:30 PM. We were seated and looking around at the decor, we were trying to figure out what the theme was. The paintings were a bit strange, especially the one of the woman which we thought was supposed to be a pilgrim, staring down at us as we ate. Our waitress, Joann, quickly approached our table and greeted us with a smile and a warm personality.

Our drinks arrived and I had ordered the French martini ($17), which to me, had a very weak flavor. Not weak in alcohol, it was just very bland and certainly not worth the price. Our starters were the French Onion soup ($16), which was very good. We also ordered the snow crab claws. The cost was $41 and we both burst into laughter when Joann brought them out because there were only five on the dish! Yes, five little crab claws for $41! What was even funnier was that they were served on a bowl of ice to keep them cold and for presentation but decorated with several star anise and pink peppercorns sprinkled on the ice. What a waste! They could’ve saved money on the decoration and added a few more crab claws for that price. Don’t get me wrong we will gladly pay top dollar for a great meal, but this was just absurd.

Our dinner was decent, but nothing special. My husband ordered the Steak Frites ribeye ($52) which was cooked well and he enjoyed it. It came with french fries that were not cooked properly, however. They were not blanched first, as they should be, so they weren’t very crispy and they were mushy inside. I had the tagliatelle bolognese ($26) which was tasty and a good portion. For dessert, we opted for the lemon tart ($12). The crust was super hard and very bland.

I probably would have given my rating as 3 stars, but Joann made our experience a little better with her warmth and excellent service, but I doubt we’ll be going back. There’s too many better restaurants around, that...

I was very excited to finally try La Grange but was sadly let down. I am hoping to try again once they have been open longer as it may be growing pains of a new restaurant. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff are all wonderful. We had reservations and I was a little disappointed that we were not sat in the dining room but on the bar side of the restaurant where I had the sun in my face the whole time from the large windows that had no shades for them, I had to wear my sunglasses most of the meal. Additionally this side of the restaurant was extremely loud and difficult to have a conversation in.

We started with cocktails and a cheese board which both came out very fast and we were very happy with. My husband had the french onion soup which he loved. However things took a turn from there. I ordered the medium Filet and my Husband had ordered the Steak Frittes Ribeye medium rare. Both entrees took an hour and a half to come out and when they did they were not warm and they were overcooked not a hint of pink to either steak. The waitress took them away to get us new meals, which was greatly appreciated. When they came back out they were slightly better but still a tad overcooked. Unfortunately the steaks were not great cuts of meat for the price in addition to them not being cooked to our preference and we barely ate our meals.

We had planned to get dessert but after being here two hours and being left unsatisfied with our meals we decided to get the check which came to $275 for 5 drinks, one app, a soup and two entrees. The waitress was so kind and said the manager was going to stop by and asked us to wait. Mia, the manager, came over and was very nice and apologized for the issues which we did really appreciate. It was an unfortunate experience but again, hopefully just growing pains of a new restaurant. I personally will wait some time before trying again unless just going for drinks because the drinks were fantastic but spending over $100/person for less than amazing food isn't ideal and I really hope they can...
