The take-out food is high quality, but the counter people are rather unpleasant--I have observed this over the last 8 visits. It's pretty consistent. The prices are appropriate for the quality, but not cheap for sure. They are very stingy with portions of rice for carry out. Hard to figure, given the money a person spends there.
Here is a followup, months later. They continue to be stingy with the rice for carry out orders. They charged an extra $2.50 for an additional small box of rice on a $50+ order. Their normally provided amount of rice was simply not sufficient for the total amount of the combined entrees. They seem to be arrogant and quite foolish, not understanding that it makes good business sense to build a positive relationship with customers. And I had spoken with them previously several times on this issue, but their position never changed. The net result is that instead of buying two $50 orders each month, I take some of my business elsewhere, buying just one $50 order per month. They lose $600 of my business each year because they are unwilling to provide as a courtesy to the customer what cost them barely 25 cents extra in uncooked dry rice per order--the extra small box of rice. They lose $600 of business for not spending an extra $6 per year. They are not very good at business math. Time for them to go...
Read moreA beautifully appointed sit-down restaurant offering authentic and exceptional Chinese and Japanese cuisine. My sister and I ordered the Sushi Pizza appetizer, a lunch bento box (with teriyaki salmon) and a rice platter topped with Cantonese-style roasted pork and duck with bok choy.
Although oddly named, the Sushi Pizza was delicious, layering thin slices of raw tuna, salmon, whitefish and seaweed on a thin, crispy scallion pancake and topped with a light Sriracha mayo and thickened sweet soy sauce. The roast pork, duck and bok choy were all perfectly cooked and served over a bed of fluffy white rice, rivaling the same dish served in New York's Chinatown.
The owner also served us a Wok-Fried Lemon Grass Beef dish complements of the house (a nice surprise)! The beef, green and red peppers and onions were well prepared, cut into perfect bite-sized pieces and seared to perfection. Each piece of beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a little char on the edges and perfectly pink inside. The lemongrass soy sauce was neither too salty nor too sweet and the wok imparted that wonderful smoky flavor.
Definitely one of the best Chinese and Japanese restaurants in Morrisville, PA and the local area. I look forward to dining there again to sample their...
Read moreOrdered for delivery with a special offer from GrubHub which was excellent. The food was a major disappointment, the strangest tasting Asian food we ever experienced. The BBQ spare ribs ($9) had a good appearance, but the taste was very odd with no resemblance to BBQ. Furthermore, the ribs were all bone with just a few bites of dried up meat. Next, the rock shrimp tempura ($9.50) was tiny nuggets of chopped shrimp with a tempura coating. The tempura was more like a breading and the taste was not inviting. The dipping sauce helped mask the weird taste. Finally, the Crispy Chicken ($17.00) was a small serving of spicy chicken chunks with diced pepper and onions. Again, the taste was not good, it was spicy but had a really awful aftertaste. Many of the chicken chunks were very tough. We have had much better Asian food from a street cart, Purple Leaf is the worst Asian food we have ever experienced. After two years decided to try Purple Leaf again after neighbor stated it was very good on a recent visit. Ordered two chicken entrées and nothing changed. The chicken was dry and tasteless, and the vegetables were difficult to find. Awful, just awful, the worst Asian food in...
