Omg, why didn't anyone tell me about Nudy's sooner?! I wander around Ardmore often and I can't believe I missed this place but it's about to be in the regular rotation going forward! Such a cozy restaurant with cute decor - I was immediately sold by the wall art that says, "Start Each Day Like It's Your Birthday." If I could give Nudy's 10 stars, I would!
The menu is very much giving Cheesecake Factory vibes - endless options! And the best part is that you get a bang for your buck with nice sized portions and it's not pricey (for this reason I'm happy Nudy's is only located in the suburbs because I feel like the same dishes at a downtown Philly restaurant would easily be at least $5 more). Breakfast is served all day - YAY! I now see why the Cinnamon Bun Pancakes are listed as a Yelp favorite and I'm looking forward to trying not only the Cinnamon French Toast next visit but all the cool & creatively flavored pancakes & french toast.
The indecisive (or perhaps greedy) part of me had to order lunch as well and it was a hard decision but I got the crabcake salad and ended up having them serve it as a sandwich in a pita - love the fact that all salads can be served as wraps too! My mom had the Granny Smith Chicken Salad which was scrumptious along with french fries that were fried to perfection and her friend had the most delicious looking Barbecue Chopped Salad.
Our server Kara was very nice and attentive as well as the hostess Katie made sure to give us a warm welcome upon entry and thanked us for dining when we were exiting. We also were seated immediately, since we dined during the week during lunch hours but I hear it gets crowded on the weekend so the earlier the better. Parking was pretty easy but it is meter parking and apparently there are other locations in the Philly suburbs. Nudy's I will be wandering...
Read moreTerrible overall experience. This was my first time here and more likely than not my last. From the time I entered the restaurant until my exit was unbelievable. Helen was the young women in the front checking people in. My group of 2 entered and never were acknowledged. As we waited in front of the counter to give our name another group party of 4 got in front of us and checked in then moved to a waiting area, I informed Helen that we were there first waiting to check in before the party whose name she took. She completely ignore the fact that I said we where there first and asked for my name. Before giving my name I reiterated that we were there before the group she checked in, again she ignored me and asked for my name. I gave her my name and she told us it would be a 5 mins wait. Once I noticed the group who she ignored us for getting seated I walked up to the counter and asked her name she told me her name was Helen and then said “oh where you here before them” I never mentioned that this time around which let me know she heard me the first two times but now that I’ve asked for her name she knew a complaint was to follow. Helen need customer service training IMMEDIATELY. As she acted as if it was a mere mistake our name was called to be seated. Laura was our waitress and she was extremely nice and pleasant I wish I could give her alone a 5 star rating. Thank you Laura you were great! My other party was completely uncomfortable because the booth on the other side of them had what appeared to be a 10 year old boy who kept throwing his self into the chair and the adult he was with never said anything. So that was extremely annoying. The food was good and...
Read moreService was good. Ambiance and layout was great too. However we had way too high of hopes. The menu has many exciting and fairly creative options for a cafe. But everything was executed poorly. All three of our dishes were extremely bland. The kitchen must be intentionally avoiding to season all the components of the dishes. We had avocado toast which was listed to have honey drizzle. Which we noticed none of. And you can't get away with not seasoning the egg AND the avocado . Completely bland but we were starving so we finished it. And decided to just put our hopes in our entrees. The crab Benedict was exciting to have . Except that it too was terribly bland. Even the grilled tomato that I had as a side wasn't seasoned. The steak and Bleu cheese salad was not only over cooked. But NOT EVEN SALTED PROPERLY OR AT ALL. What kind of kitchen cooks a steak without at the very least Salt and Pepper. Its clear that the kitchen does not taste the dishes they make and are completely ignorant to creating flavorful dishes. The only saving grace Grace was that the prices were reasonable and even though it hurt to pay for such lazy made food. I could still make my way to another restaurant to have an actual meal after that sad culinary excuse for a meal. I have never wanted to write a poor review in my life but I knew that burdening our server with a complaint would of been unnecessary as she had no hand in the disappointment. I hope that this reaches the kitchen to wake up and realize that if they want to be cooks . They need to learn how to season their food . The menu is great. Just execute it with flavor and bring the...
