I’ve visited twice within the last week. I am very well aware of what Korean bakeries are like and had been excited to find out one of the well known Korean bakery franchises in Korea to open in the neighborhood. The setup is cute and simple and obviously very clean since they just opened. I hope they expand the variety of menu as they settle. Although most of stuff I got tasted delicious, I wasn’t thrilled about their customer service. I walked in and was not greeted by any of 5-6 people that were working there both times. I grabbed a tray and a tong and started picking what I wanted and another customer walks in and seemed hesitant about how the concept of Korean bakeries work. She finally asked me and I had to explain that she had to grab a tray and tong herself and grab what she wants and being to the counter to checkout. I understand they just opened but I think this is when they should focus on a good customer service. I spent about $40-$50 both times but I don’t think I’ll be as frequent to this place because of the lack of customer service.

Great little cafe! It’s sets itself outside of the other cafes in the neighborhood by being a French-Korean inspired cafe. It uses some traditional Asian elements such as taro, match, and mochi. The Honey Cream Cheese Mochi Pancakes are my favorite. Got to get there early! They have great macarons too. Iced Taro Latte and Matcha Espresso are my favorite unique to them drinks. The cloud cakes are uniquely delicious!! Got the mango cloud cake for my daughter's birthday as she had been asking for one. We enjoyed it! I’d encourage you to go here and try something new or enjoy an old favorite! Parking is difficult at times but you can go up the street to the Septa lot or park on Berkeley Rd.

Beautiful bakery goods. Has a cute vibe but very uncomfortable setting. Happened to be there during winter and there was practically no heat - very uncomfortable to sit in a cafe that’s cold. Uncomfortable seats. My hot matcha latte which was already served lukewarm got cold within 7 minutes. Couldn’t really enjoy it. The croissant sandwich was excellent. It’s a popular spot lot of people drop by and pickup. There is a wide variety of sweet and savory items. I wanted to try so many things. They have free WiFi. Also seems to have a parking on the side for pickup.

Pastries are decent. This review is mostly for the service. I’ve been to a number of Asian- found bakeries and usually have a great experience with TLJ. But I was just so confused by today’s experience:

  1. There was an elderly gentleman who wanted to get another coffee after eating there. The male Asian staff there frowned at him and you could tell he was judging the man for only buying a cup of coffee to stay there. It was only after the elderly man had to explain to the staff that he had already eaten and wanted another cup did the staff’s face lighten up a bit. What’s wrong with buying a cup of coffee?
  2. you know how when you buy different pastries, they’re supposed to put it in separate bags in case the breads touch each other, etc? The same staff ruthlessly just shoved all the bread into the same bag. I was so confused.
  3. my mother saw a pastry that they sell by the counter and asked if jt was pound cake. I kid you not, he just yelled at her saying aggressively “it’s cheesecake!”

Not sure if this guy was having a bad day. Coming from the industry, I get that being in the service industry means having some terrible customers come in occasionally. But that should never taint the way you...

Soon as we walked in, two people at the counter literally made eye contact and still couldn’t be bothered to greet us. Not even a smile. Maybe it’s a customer service choice, or maybe it’s because we’re not white—hard to tell, but it sure didn’t feel great.

They were out of most of the items, so we had to settle for what was left. Tried the taro cream bread (their “best seller”)—honestly, just okay. The Danish? Forgettable. The milky bread? So sweet it felt like a sugar bomb.

Also tried their “tiramisu iced latte,” and I’m still wondering where the tiramisu flavor was hiding. Honestly, I would have been better off grabbing a Wawa iced coffee for $2 instead of paying $7 for this disappointment.

Overall, even though the food itself was decent, the staff’s attitude and what felt like racism completely ruined the experience. If I ever visit Tous Les Jours again, it definitely won’t be...
