Pastries are decent. This review is mostly for the service. I’ve been to a number of Asian- found bakeries and usually have a great experience with TLJ. But I was just so confused by today’s experience:
Not sure if this guy was having a bad day. Coming from the industry, I get that being in the service industry means having some terrible customers come in occasionally. But that should never taint the way you...
Read moreI’ve visited twice within the last week. I am very well aware of what Korean bakeries are like and had been excited to find out one of the well known Korean bakery franchises in Korea to open in the neighborhood. The setup is cute and simple and obviously very clean since they just opened. I hope they expand the variety of menu as they settle. Although most of stuff I got tasted delicious, I wasn’t thrilled about their customer service. I walked in and was not greeted by any of 5-6 people that were working there both times. They were out of most of the items, so we had to settle for what was left. Tried the taro cream bread (their “best seller”)—honestly, just okay. The Danish? Forgettable. The milky bread? So sweet it felt like a sugar bomb.
Also tried their “tiramisu iced latte,” and I’m still wondering where the tiramisu flavor was hiding. Honestly, I would have been better off grabbing a Wawa iced coffee for $2 instead of paying $7 for this disappointment.
Overall, even though the food itself was decent, the staff’s attitude and what felt like racism completely ruined the experience. If I ever visit Tous Les Jours again, it definitely won’t be...
