Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Not too many people given the day of the week and nice weather. Beautiful, tree lined paths surrounding the college campus. There are countless detours from the main path that are great for the adventurous or someone who wants to walk a less circuitous route that avoids the potential monotony from completing multiple laps on the main route. It’s also a nice place just to see the various tree species. There are some beautiful cherry trees donated from Tokyo, Japan near one of the parking lots and so many other varieties! Getting there- Car is king but visitors can also use the SEPTA train. The trail is a 5 minute walk from the...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVE the nature trail. It’s a roughly 2.5 mile mostly flat trail. They keep it well kept so you can walk it year round. There are a lot of beautiful marked trees and small wildlife around. The trail is scenic and circles Haverford Colleges’ campus. You can stop by the creek or pond as well. Theres a nice meadow to enjoy overlooking the pond. Great for picnics or meditation. They just added a nice sitting spot along the trail which I’ve used as a nice meditation spot. Dogs are allowed. No bikes are allowed. There’s nearby cafes you can walk to off the trail across Lancaster Ave if you’re looking for a drink or...
Read moreWe enjoyed a scenic late summer hike around the trail loop. The trail path, trees and native plants are lushly planted and well-maintained. You can scan a QR code to learn about the variety of trees along the trail. We strolled by a pond stocked with turtles and home to native birds and mammals. There is an historic Treaty Elm which is a descendant of the famous elm where William Penn met with the Lenape in the 1600s. Bikes are not allowed on the trail, but walking and running visitors and leashed dogs are welcome. I recommend picking up the Visitors' Guide for the map and description of special sections like the...
