The section of Linglestown Road near the Colonial Park intersection has formally become a dining hot spot for me, now that I've "chowed" Himalayan Fusion off my list as well. I mean, before my recent discovery of the nearby Kimlee, I knew nothing about this area. Now I have 2 of my favorite restaurants and more! It's amazing that half a mile of this suburban road can offer such concentration of ethnic cuisines - from Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, to now Indian and Nepali !!
Today, my family and I were looking to sit down for our first visit here only to find out buffet was available on a Sunday evening! It was a welcomed surprise because I love variety and value. It took us only 5 seconds to change our plan and went for the buffet. For $11.99, the following offerings were at our disposal:
Fresh Garden Salad along with some chutneys Chicken Noodle Soup Fried Vegetables Dal Tadka (lentils) Chana Masala (chickpeas) Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflowers) Himali Chicken (curry) Lamb Vindaloo Chicken Tikka Masala Tandoori Chicken Fruit Cocktail (with Mango Puree)
This lineup was quite familiar to me with the exception of Himali Chicken which had some added spices in the curry that gave a good kick to my taste buds and cleared my sinus in a hurry. The meat was so tender that it fell off the bones with just a bite. I loved it. The Lamb Vindaloo was also exquisitely executed, the other star of the night.
Great ethnic decors with warm and pleasant ambiance. This made up what little they may have fallen short on the food.
Services was also excellent. Our waitress was very friendly; she even offered to take a picture for us. Our used plates were taken away as soon as we got up for another round.
I am looking forward to...
Read moreWARNING: do not order pickup from this place. Never experienced such rude customer service. Ordered online through there website and when I got there at the time they said it would be ready he said I don’t have an order for you. It must of went somewhere else and told me there was a place in Chicago with the same name and it probably went to them. I showed him my receipt and the address and said is this not your address and he said yes. I said ok well I ordered off your website and my card was charged. I had to call my bank to confirm that it was charged. Then after showing him all my receipts the order for confirmation, there website I ordered it from he said oh I see it now. Then he told me why did you order online it costs so much more to do online. Well after reviewing the online app charged me 30 dollars more than what I should of paid. All of the prices are increased by 5 dollars or so. I said well it’s your website why would you charge more for placing order online. He said I don’t know why it charges more we are trying to fix it. I asked him if I will be getting a refund for the increase in cost it has online and he said umm no and laughed in my face. They were so rude there. Horrible horrible...
Read moreWe went there this Monday on 07/11/2022. We had steam chicken Momos and one Goat Thali. The Momos were really good and the sauce that came with it was decent. However, I would suggest to add some more stuffing inside the momo, just a bit more. I believe the price did justice to the Momos that they served.
On the other hand, the goat thali was not up to the mark, at least according to my expectations. The thali had olive pickle, 2 pieces of Naans, one small bowl of cauliflower-potato curry, one small bowl of goat curry, one small bowl of dal, decent amount of rice, and cucumber slices an onions as salad. The thali had two small pieces of Gulab Jamun with a small amount of coconut flakes on top of them. According to my taste bud the taste wasn't that great compared to other thalis that I had in other restaurants. The price was $18.99 per thali and I strongly believe the price did not do justice to the food the thali offered.
The environment was really good and the service was...
