To preface, My wife used to be a hostess for Harrigans, We are 3 generations deep of Tech grads and Lubbock natives from 85 and Indiana area. My Father owned 3 restaurants. After The Tech Football game last Saturday, we decided to Go to the new Harrigans, Lots of past memories. and to have dinner and watch the UT game that had come on around 3 PM We had family in from out of town that had never been to Lubbock, and we were seating a table for 8, We arrived at opening the restaurant was not crowded at all, so seated very quickly in the bar area at a table to eat. Had to ask them to turn on the big screen which was not even on?? Football? Saturday? or was I being Brusque? I got up from the table to sit at he bar rail directly behind my table chair to watch the game and drink my beer, the family was ordering apps, and drinks, The waitress told me that I could not order any apps and sit at the bar rail, (which seems odd) I told her I was not ordering anything that the table folks were, That I am just watching the game and having a beer, She then took everyone,s order, Next thing, some guy (who for some reason thought it important to keep telling me this was his restaurant, That he was the owner? so what) came up to me, Immediately HOSTILE, RUDE and with a total lack of RESPECT, and told me I had to vacate the bar rail and that his waitress had told him, and he told me that I had been "BRUSQUE" with her, And DEMANDED that I had to sit down in the seat at the table, and again vacate the seat a the bar rail, because I could not eat there, to which I reminded him that That I was not eating, just watching the game, which I thought was a pretty common thing in a bar with a BIG screen TV, I am like thinking what is your problem. I also, after he told me he was the owner again, reminded him "That I was a customer", This guy then notices my kuzy that I had put on the bottle of beer I was served, as this was some how an indication of sobriety. and told me that. Now keep in mind, My family who are seated directly behind me, are in total disbelief at what was transpiring, This guy is now threatening to call the police, because I will not take my seat at the table with my family, like he some 2nd grade teacher, and I am little Tommy, A total bizarre experience!!, I am 67 years old and never experienced anything like this. Totally embarrassed that my family had to have their dining experience on this re-visit to family memories. pretty much ruined. (Mr in your face owner guy) finally leaves, The waitress who is now, not just being BRUSQUE with me, do to this over the top display, but is making sure my experience is the worst, She did serve my family, And as far as I know, no real issues, Probably good, by now, could have been better, When my plate was served at the table I asked the waitress to please have mine put in a to go, as I had lost my appetite after this, It was brought back to me, yes QUITE OVER COOKED, threw out when we returned home, I also asked her to bring me the check, That I would be the one buying This apparently did not go over well for her, we had to wait over 20 minutes and I had to ask on several occasions, before she and the tall host guy came back and said we did not have to pay for anything, all would be taken care of, At which time, I said there was no way that we walk out on a $400/500 tab with out something in writing, They then ran a 0$ check But he is right on one thing,He is the owner, But we are customers and 70 plus years of Lubbock living, acquaintance,s, associate, fraternity, sorority, church members and other college friends and their friends and connections etc, will also know he is the BOSS, This is NOT the old Harrigans. Checking later with police, They thought it quite odd that someone would be served alcohol that was intoxicated, and looking for a fight and rude to employees, as that would be against the law for any establishment to serve an intoxicated person, TABC guidelines, PAT, Thanks for your subjective opinions, Never be back PS mud in your parking lot, clean...
Read moreFirst I would say is I have been eating at Harrigans for a little over 30 years. We have been in the new Harrigans 3 times since open and two of the three times we have problems being seated. I know the owner personally and I am absolutely certain he would not allow this to happen. I would like an explanation on how the hostess is supposed to do this job because I truly watched and don't understand the order or lack of that she runs this desk. I called ahead of time at 5:00pm before leaving on a 40 minute drive to get there and asked if I could reserve a spot for 5, I was told that they don't do that and that there were plenty of tables available. So we make the drive and get there at 6:20 to be told there was a 1 hour wait we said fine we would wait pretty normal for a Saturday night in Lubbock. We waited out our hour and watched groups of people leaving and none of the groups or couples in front of us were being seated. So at 7:40 I asked the hostess where we were at she said they were getting ready to clean a table for us. While I'm standing there a group of 4 walked in the hostess handed menus and had them seated. So I asked her how they were getting seated she informed me that the had a reservation, I said you told me you don't do that and she said we do reservations. So I went and sat down and waited so at this point it is now 8:00 and we are literally the only people waiting to be seated. So I walked back to the restroom to find the restaurant is 3/4 empty. Now I understand covid distancing but there was a room with 4 large tables and they were packed. I videoed the walk back through the dining area. Now my daughter in law asked at 8:10 where we were and she said again they are cleaning a table which was empty when I walked through. As I looked at the guest list everyone that had gotten there after us was crossed of the list. Finally at 8:20 we were seated 2 hours after arriving, so we were seated in the back at a 6 person round table. This very table was empty 20 minutes earlier I have it on video. While sitting there discussing this whole problem we concluded that all the other tables were 4 person tables that must be why it took so long. After finally ordering drinks and appetizers the hostess came over next to us and took two 4 person tables and slid them together to make 8 of course. Why couldn't she have done this an hour or so earlier so we could be seated? I would really like to know the answers because it has happened two of the three times we have been there covid or no covid and I really don't understand the process at this particular place. We eat all over Lubbock and don't have this issue it's very frustrating. The food was awesome as usual the waitress worked her but off and took good care of us. Again I just would like to understand this better or get better communication that your short handed, not enough tables, or whatever your food is to good to be frustrated when you finally get...

The crab is fake. The menu spells it crab, but it is actually KRAB. It the imitation crab product you get in stores in those sticks. Shame on this place not representing that according to industry standard. The red bell pepper sauce was broken. Pools of grease on each end of the boat. I got my sauce on the side. Parmesan Creamed Spinach was HORRIBLY OVER SALTED! I have nothing against frozen spinach either, but they're not blanching it so it's getting so dark and pasty from holding. Ultimate Mix was supposed to come with Fried Mushrooms as well...we got one cap and a half of a stem. Sad thing is one of the Managers brought it out. Guess we don't expo at this place. The rice pilaf is Uncle Ben's Brand. I'd recognize that grey color from that seasoning packet anywhere. It's a great product, but wasn't handled well. The wild rice bits were undercooked so it was like eating pine needles and there was some dried out clumps. Not to mention they spread it out on the plate so it was lukewarm when I got it. I wish they had a dress code. Our servers was wearing open back, core soled slides. He kept shuffling his weight because his feet were hurting. You wore your slides to work sir! On concrete. Insanity. Then I asked for a manager so I could let them know about the food they sent a girl out with a tight clingy skirt on with a split up to her mid thigh out there. Hair dyed black, dark lipstick. Bright orange top on. The hostesses all had on some variation of a black top and pants, combat boots, loose hair. Watch the rug at the door as you go out. It isn't anchored and it caught the front of my shoe and I almost tripped and fell. If you like your face, step lively, over that rug.
I've never been here before and here it is....I had the Cattleman or Rancher style ribeye. The mushrooms were so salty and dark. My steak was tough and kind of bland really. I did ask for it well and I usually help myself out and ask for it medium well and it comes out just right because people don't accommodate for carry over cooking, but I forgot too late this time. The onion rings were not crisp and were not salted after frying. They are batter in a cornmeal batter which is heavy as well as flavorless. The creamed spinach was underwhelming. The spinach artichoke dip was tasty and comes with toasted bread and chips. The Prime Rib soup is overrated. It doesn't have any body to it (watery) and I only had two pieces of meat in my bowl. I wanted to be impressed, but the food just wasn't it. The decor is nice and the layout of the...
