So me and my bride went to this coffee shop for the first time visit there are things we look for in trying a newly discovered shops especially coffee what we look for:
Presentation
Cleanliness
Atmospheric vibes
And over work ethic
All in which I believe are vital to keeping a business going.
So there were just a few little details that I saw were missed. So what we tried was the White chocolate mocha to start and i also went with a separate drink a 4 shot espresso with Half and half.
So the white mocha.
I can usually tell when there’s dark or medium roast used in white mocha just because of this distinct taste in bitterness with a dark roast You have more of an earthy smoky flavor at first then finishing off with a Slightly sharp/better aftertaste The medium roast is complete opposite and mild and subtle tasting normally what I’ve seen doesn’t mix well if it’s not done right Or the sweetness of your drink cancels out the flavor of the coffee But that was NOT the case in this white Moche The flavor was perfectly balanced mild sweetnesses it was not under sweets nor was it overly sweet I will say I was very impressed with this white mocha trying it for the first time in a new coffee shop that I’ve never been to before and the drink came out hot a hot coffee drink is supposed to come out hot and the fact that I could barely hold onto the cup that’s just how I like it there was also no mocha buildup at the bottom of the cup because of improper mixture Everything was mixed vary well and I do recommend this drink.
So the 4 shot with half and half
Was not impressed. I don’t believe personally that medium roast should be used an espresso form but that’s my personal preference everybody has their own unique taste I personally think medium roast should be used in flavored mixed drinks or as a cold brew but again that’s my personal preference everybody has their own unique taste
So the reason why I didn’t like it is because of the drink was cold when It was ordered hot how ever when I ordered the half-and-half I forgot to ask if they could steam the half-and-half so In a way this is kind of my fault but barista’s normally will ask you if you would like it stemmed but this barista did not that’s one of the small details that was missed which caused the drink to become cold unfortunately
But the overall presentation was very nice the atmosphere was very inviting the rustic vibe and a cozy seating area The floor and the tables were clean and free of used cups and debris and watching the employees for the most part everybody seemed to enjoy their job and they were friendly to the customers so I will definitely be coming back and getting the white mocha again they also serve tea which I didn’t have a chance to try. I do recommend...
Read moreBest coffee shop in Lubbock; it's a staple for almost 4 decades for a reason! My wife comes here regularly to write, and it's also been an excellent study spot for me. The coffee is not over-roasted like Starbucks, and has a good full flavor and smell that permeates the shop. All the specialty drinks are great, especially our favorite, the Hodge Podge! Front room is perfect for hanging out socially. The back room is my preference for study. They just added an additional restroom, so they're up to two! The new one is tucked back behind the original restroom and has to be accessed through the back room, which has confused many people I've observed. Just be aware to go around the corner! Both restrooms are clean and pleasant. Wifi now has a password. The agreement for using Internet is a lot longer and stricter than I'd expect or prefer for a coffee shop experience, but I assume it's to cover their backs. Art shows have become a greater focus, with collections coming with more regularity in the back room. Pleasant way to build community. The main issue can be long lines (though they usually move quick do to a good staff size), and lack of a drive-thru. But this is only an inconvenience when in a hurry, and makes it more of a traditional, people-focused coffee shop than a car-oriented coffee factory. All in all, this is a wonderful neighborhood coffee shop that provides an example for neighborhoods and cities across the state for an incredible asset. Our favorite...
Read moreUpdated: I tried them again. Should have saved my money. 11.17.23 Ordered a latte with sugar-free irish cream and a breakfast sandwich with wheat English muffin and sausage. Both were cold upon arrival. The coffee didn't even taste like coffee just Irish cream. The English muffin hadn't been toasted, was cold and squishy, and the whole sandwich was just not good. The delivery was just two miles away so it shouldn't have been. This was my first time to try this company and it will be my last. Definitely not worth the price.
Previous review: This was one of the worst coffees I have had in awhile. I had the latte with oat milk. It was bitter and burnt from the first taste and barely any oat milk. I drank a few sips for the caffiene but trashed the rest. It just wasn't good. The customer service was not too good either. No one greets you as you walk in or acknowledges you in any way. They were pretty busy when I went in but that isn't an excuse to ignore new people coming in. The atmosphere is ok. It is nice inside with the wall of windows as the store front but it's just your typical "mass produced" coffee house. ...
