Husband and I went for dinner around 930p on a Friday night. Yes, it's late. But we drove in from an hour away and wanted a good meal after a long day of work. We should've known to leave when we pulled up to a mostly empty parking lot, while restaurants next door were packed. Walked in and a hostess+ waitress didn't even look at us. Just complained about their jobs and how they dont want anybody else to come in. One finally blurbed out "this way" and started walking away w menus. No eye contact. We assumed we were to follow. Stared at us and threw our stuff on the table by the bar "these are menus and theres your silverware" before stomping away. Server showed up 10+ minutes later even though there were about 4 servers, a bartender, & a manager we could see staring at us. She was curt and dry. I ordered Victoria's round cut w steakhouse mac & house salad. Husband had Queensland chicken/shrimp pasta. Salad came out wilted, wet cheese, and soggy tomatos...I didn't have dressing. My steak was so over Seasoned you couldn't taste the meat & I suspect the cut wasn't what I paid for. The mac n cheese was some of the worst I've ever had - over Seasoned and somehow zero flavor with overcooked noodles and undercooked cheese. It was like a science project gone terribly wrong. I don't understand how that even happened?? Husband's pasta had zero flavor and the shrimp still had tails on. It's an Alfredo saucy pasta dish - not shrimp cocktail finger food!! Digging through pasta to pick out shrimp and use fingers to pull off the tails...they were sat on the table since we weren't given a side plate. We struggled to get refills. Check came - $75. This was a $20 meal at best. Will not be returning...
Read moreSo allow me to preface this post. This post is going to include two trips to outback steakhouse. The initial trip was not a good experience, but the owner of this outback steakhouse asked if we could give it another shot and we did and the second trip was much better.my wife, mother-in-law and I went to this outback steakhouse and initially the experience was sub-par. The music was so loud we could not hear each other speak, our waitress was quite rude and very mouthy. My mother-in-law and I both ordered the 11 oz sirloin and requested for them to be rare. We received medium well. I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway but my mother-in-law sent hers back and they made her a new one. this time it came back medium. All the while, we still have not received my wife's food. So unsatisfied we went ahead and paid and left. My mother-in-law decided to document her experience online and got a message from the owner asking for the opportunity to make it right and that if "he had to he would come in and cook and serve us himself." So a few weeks pass and we decide to give it another shot and the second trip was much much better. The music was at a lower level and you could actually talk to one another without having to scream. The food came out all at once and it was actually all correct.i should have taken pictures but it's too late now. Would definitely recommend this...
Read moreIf you’re looking for the best dining experience in Lubbock look no further than Outback Steakhouse, where Josh is the true star of the show! From the moment we walked in, he greeted us with a smile that could light up a bonfire (and trust me, it’s a wild outback kind of fire!).
Josh’s enthusiasm is infectious—he has the kind of energy that makes you think he just chugged a gallon of bloomin’ onion sauce. He cracked jokes like a seasoned comedian while skillfully juggling our orders, and I half-expected him to break into a stand-up routine between serving our steaks.
When I asked for recommendations, he responded, “Everything’s great here, but the ribs will make you want to write a sonnet!” I didn’t, but I definitely considered it after tasting those tender, flavorful masterpieces.
Even when we accidentally spilled our drinks (sorry, Josh!), he swooped in like a culinary superhero, cracking a joke about how it’s just “the Outback way of adding extra flavor.” His quick wit and genuine kindness turned a minor mishap into a highlight of our evening.
In summary, if you want steak that’s as great as the laughter you’ll share, ask for Josh! He’s not just a worker; he’s the best part of your Outback adventure. Five stars for the food and a million stars...
