Potbelly — Restaurant in Lubbock

Stopped at Potbelly on Milwaukee in Lubbock. My wife ordered turkey avocado and I ordered the wreck and a cup of Mac and cheese. I asked the gentleman making my sandwich if I could sub bacon for salami, as I don’t care for salami. He said that would be fine. When my wife’s sandwich came out of toaster and I asked the guy doing the toppings if the turkey was the right amount. He said yes 4.6 oz, I’ve spent 26 years in restaurant management, no way was that even close to 4.6 oz. My bill was $39.98, yes I got the large sandwich, it was $13.39. I asked where my Mac and cheese was and the guy scraped the bottom of the warmer for 2 partial scoops that was more like mashed Mac and cheese, which was $4.89 for a cup, you kidding me. I looked at my receipt they charged me $3.39 for subbing bacon for salami, just my opinion if they weren’t going to sub the bacon I should of been told they were charging me and given me the salami on the side since I was being charged extra. Bottom line I will not return, for 2 sandwiches, Mac and cheese and 2 drinks paying $40, I can go eat at a casual dining restaurant for that price. While sitting there eating a guy and girl walk in, steps behind the counter and grabs two cups and gets drinks, then a guy getting off gets 2 drinks and chips, none of them paying a thing for their items, leaving all together, but I get charged for subbing out my salami. My sister had a terrible experience here. She was told her card didn’t go through after they were almost finished eating when it said it did at the time of purchase. The employee was extremely rude and called them out in front of the whole store saying her card was declined. Long story short, she tried to charge them $76 dollars for two meals and two kids meals because the employee said she knew what they ordered. My sister had to ask if she could put everything in again and the employee told her “I remember what you ordered, you don’t need to tell me!”. After she went ahead and put the order in it only came out to $40 dollars. Long story short the original charge did go through and didn’t decline so they had to refund them for the money they paid the second time. Absolutely poor service and a disrespectful employee. I would not recommend anyone coming to this restaurant especially after this experience. You will be better off spending your money...

I love potbelly’s food but the customer service at this location is horrible. I usually order online but decided to go to the store to use my gift certificate from dining for charities. When I was ordering I didn’t realize that there were options for skinny sandwiches and thin bread and when I was asking a question about these options the employee was extremely rude. I then pulled around and paid for my food using the gift certificate when I received my receipt I realized the employee didn’t apply the full amount of the gift certificate I had. I was being perfectly pleasant when I was explaining this to him and he just responded with “It is was it is” and proceeded to slam the window in my face. I pulled around to the front and for the managers name and he refused to give it me. Completely ruined potbelly’s for me and my family.
