I went to Ruby Tuesdays in Lumberton, NC to eat lunch after church today 1/26/2025. I was alone and and when I arrived there were twenty people waiting to be seated and I asked the hostess what the reason for waiting because there were a lot of empty tables. She said that there were not enough staff in the kitchen to cook the food. There were more people standing waiting to be seated than there were sitting at tables. I asked the hostess if I could sit and eat at the bar like I have done before and the hostess told me no that I had to wait like everyone else and I asked her to check because I had sat at the bar before and she seemed new. The hostess told me she would check and she came back and told me that she was told no I could not eat at the bar. I waited for 20 minutes and decided to just order my food to go. I went to the bar and ordered my food to go, the bar was completely empty of customers. After the bartender took order she handed me card to rate my visit so I scanned the bar code and began typing my complaint. Apparently the manager was told I was writing a complaint and she came to me and said I just want to let you know why customers are having to wait. She told me that they were short of staff in the kitchen and were behind. I said I understood that because the hostess had already told me but it would have been better if they would have at least sat the waiting customers at all the empty tables and we could at least be viewing the menus instead of standing. She then returned to the kitchen. A few minutes later a man came to me at the bar and said he was one of the managers and I told him a manager had already spoken to me and he said he wanted to explain the wait to me. I told him I already been told they were short of cooks in the kitchen. He proceeded to tell me how businesses have changed everywhere. That work has changed and is not like it use to be. I told him work has not changed, workers have changed but customers have not changed and we expect good quality service. The way he was talking I got the impression that he had resolved himself to the fact that he had accepted poor workers in his business. I told him about the hostess refusing to let me order and eat at the bar and he said you are sitting here now so you can eat here. I told him my food was already prepared to go and I had already resolved myself to that fact. He told me the hostess was new and she was incorrect in what she told me and I told him that the person she went to clarify her statement after I asked her to was wrong also. What I thought was very frustrating is that I spoke with two managers and neither one of those managers went to the hostess to tell her that she was incorrect, that people can sit and eat at the bar so that she would not make the same mistake with another customer. So when I left I went to the hostess and told her that she was mistaken and according to the bartender and manager people can sit at the bar and eat and I asked her to clarify what I said with her manager and give the name to the manager of the person who also gave her incorrect information to prevent it from...
Read moreFirst, I would like to start off by saying how very disappointed I am in the Ruby Tuesday Lumberton, NC location this past Saturday. When we walked through the door we were not greeted by the host. So to us it had already put a bad taste in our mouth but we proceeded to be seated by the waitress. As we were walking towards our booth a waiter was tossing food back in the bowls off the Salad bar that had been sitting outside the bowls. So we had already decided not to get salad bar, that was really disgusting to see because it could have been contaminated. We went to be seated and the table beside our booth had crumbs all over the floor it was so filthy. By this time I still tried to give a try but my stomach started to go left. When the waitress bought out my drink the glass was very greasy and filthy as well. So I asked her could I please have our drinks in to go cups she was very pleasant and went to go get the togo cups. As she was coming back to the table we had already decided to leave all together so I waited behind to let her know because my husband had, had enough. When I proceeded to tell her that she rolled her eyes at me like I did something wrong, which was very rude. I then could have told her the reason but I decided not too. I really think as a paying customer that feedback would probably help. This location needs to be shutdown for a day even a week to be revamped and cleaned throughly. It needs a deep cleaning. The floors were sticky and nasty. The windows and wood around the windows need to be clean as well. These are just a few observations. As well as customer service training. RUBY TUESDAY is a family staple. I would hate for this business to go down all because of customer service and cleanliness. It's a simple fix that can be very helpful to...
Read moreEdit: Sent an email, as requested. I was told someone would reach out within 48 hours. It’s been 11 days. It’s just the principle.
Gave it another shot tonight. Terrible service. Out of 4 meals, none were correct.
We ordered 2 steaks and 2 triple smash burgers. One of the burgers came with only one patty. The other was cold, flavorless, and missing half of the toppings ordered. Sent the first back and it was “remade” and served with the same fries and quarter sized portion of wilted lettuce. All fries were cold and inedible. The steaks were awful. Ordered a T-bone cooked medium, came out more than well done. The other was a ribeye, ordered rare. It came out, again, more than well done. It was sent back and the steak that followed was barely cooked and SMOTHERED in pepper and seasoning. The appetizer was burnt potato skins.
The only thing worth eating was the salad, and that is because the staff didn’t touch it.
Had a bad experience a few months ago, tried to give it another shot tonight but will never go back. We waited 2+ hours for basically inedible food.
Also, the manager never showed face and sent a cook out to apologize for the food that he “didn’t cook.” I don’t believe there was any management on duty. Folks in hoodies hanging out by the bar, staff walking around ignoring customers who clearly need help. I felt bad for our waitress because it wasn’t her fault and I’m sure she got screwed out of tips because of crappy cooks. Everyone around us, while we were there, was talking about how bad the service was and that they should’ve left.
If I could leave 0 stars, that would...
