I was excited to have a Cajun food restaurant to try but very disappointed. We ordered these items Chicken and sausage gumbo - did not like at all, very oily and tasted like burnt flour abc grease, no flavor other than that and the sausage in it is gross. None of us liked it, we didn’t eat it. I make better at home with the Louisiana gumbo pouch. Roast beef Po’boy - tender meat and good flavor to the roast beef but way too salty. No Mayo, lettuce, tomato to balance all the salt, served more French dip style with an even saltier dip, my blood pressure was sky high and I could only eat 1/4 of it, took it home to my dogs. Potato salad - homemade but dry and bland, needed salt, Mayo, and pickles. Blackened shrimp nachos - these were the best of the items we ordered, the chips fresh and toasted, the cheese sauce was good. Blackened fish tacos - three good sized tacos in flour tortillas, my son said he liked them, I didn’t try them. He said the charro beans weren’t any good though. The portions are good sized the food just isn’t that good. Several people have told us to try this place, maybe their Cajun food just isn’t that great. Maybe it’s more the Mexican food? I dunno but not worth the drive from MB again to find out. The service was ok at first but once the food came out we never got checked on or refills.

Everything in this restaurant was great! It was our first time going and we had a great experience. The server was very friendly and helpful, the food was awesome and we left with nothing but full belly!

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Our party of eight came in hungry and left with shattered dreams. The waitress moved at the speed of a snail on vacation and had the personality of a cardboard box. We practically had to send out a search party for a high chair—five different people and 20 minutes later, we finally secured one like it was a rare artifact. Meanwhile, my drink sat at the bar for 15 minutes, staring at me longingly like a sad abandoned puppy. I finally rescued it myself. Refills? Ha! We would have had better luck finding water in the desert. Then came the food—cold, uninspired, and looking like it had already given up. Ahi Tuna, I should have known better! Oh, it was a science experiment gone horribly wrong. They took it straight from the freezer, zapped it in the microwave, and served it up as a gelatinous disaster. The dipping sauce? Pure liquid smoke, as if someone had bottled the essence of a poorly managed barbecue. And the manager? A mythical creature, rumored to exist but never spotted in the wild. We’ve been to two other Tia Juanita’s, and they were fantastic. But this place? It’s like the evil twin of the franchise—the one the family doesn’t talk about. Never again.

Normally this place is decent. But I just had dinner here with two issues:

I ordered grilled fish off the child's menu for my son with NO seasoning. When the waitress finally came by to check on the food we showed her there was the spicy seasoning all over it and she said "oh, I'm sorry" and continues walking by. We thought he could try to eat it considering we were already almost done with the crawfish (see comments below). He had one bite, normally an eater that could take down 1 filet from the regular menu.

To be fair, I have never had this problem with Tia Juanitas but today was a joke. We ordered 5 pounds of crawfish. Now, I have been eating crawfish twice a week during crawfish season for over 30 years... I know what 5 lbs looks like. We were given 3 lbs, not 5. Seriously, you shouldn't be able to pick up one crawfish and see the bottom of the tray. They were 1 layer deep... come on! Also, 1 in 4 were too mushy to eat or even get out of the shell... lord knows I tried. I can absolutely tell you it was NOT 5 lbs. I had gastric sleeve surgery and can normally take in about 2lbs if I pace myself. My friend and I finished the tray and I was still so hungry I ate the corn, which I never do. And I am still hungry. Also, the left over crawfish shells only took up 1/2 the white bucket. We confirmed it was 5lbs and paid for what we were told we received. I consider this theft and bad practice.

The worst 62.00 I have spent on a meal. You lost...

My Husband and I went in today and our experience was less than positive to say the least. To start, we got sat and no one came to get our drink order for well over 10 minutes. (It was NOT busy when we were there) Someone other than our waitress finally came to get our drinks, our waitress ended up bringing them out to us, and TOLD US she didn't realize someone was sat in her area. We ordered an appetizer of chips and queso, when it came out it was like it had been sitting out for hours and they just stuck it in a microwave to warm it up. I didn't say anything at this point. We got side salads with our meals, that we didn't eat because the Lettuce was so bitter it was unbearable, and everything was soaking wet.

By this time, another table has sat down next to us. The waitress is so busy talking to the other customers (about a ladies perfume) and it's been way longer than it should have for our food to come out. Eventually another employee brings us our food. My food is literally so spicy I can't eat it. My husband's main dish is pretty good, but his sides tasted sour. Through all of this our waitress, Mindi, has been basically absent the whole time. My husband had to flag her down to finally get our check to leave. Our food was wayy too expensive for the service AND food to...
