Don’t get the wrong impression on three stars. It just takes real bell ringers to get a 4 and especially a 5 from me for que. It was a good meal and would eat there again. That out of the way… Brisket- requested moist and burnt ends. Wasn’t dry but not moist either. Tender. The burnt ends were not chewy as expected and didn’t seem to have the expected salt and pepper bite to it. Sausage- thinly sliced so I couldn’t test if it would have had a nice snap to it. It appeared that it would before being cut. Clean mix, meaty, no gristle. Good middle of the road offering. Cole Slaw- slightly too much goo but a tasty bland and the veggies were fresh and crisp. Pinto beans- spot on. Firm and tender, not overly seasoned. Sauce on the side- pretty much a traditional Texas twangy version Jalapeño bread- now this was really good. Not overly heaped with jalapeños (although that would have been just fine with me) and FRESH. That was the star that shined for me. All in all worth a repeat visit when I’m...
Read moreI spend 120.00 per month here on BBQ by the pound and have never been disappointed. EVER. Wouldn't have even tried it except the Dick-weeds at Dickies always locks the doors early and won't open even if you drive up to the door, walk up and look at them. They act like they don't see you. Plus, at Dick-weeds, it didn't matter if you asked for extra-lean or not, you're getting what THEY want you to have. After having to feed the dogs 1/4 lb. of fat-ladened crap, I headed in to let one of the guys (the only one who EVER cared) know and, you guessed it; cell phone said it was 8:44 and sign said OPEN, yet the doors were locked. I figured I'd give Goings a try. That was 1-1/2 years ago. Thank you, Jesus. At Goings, you don't have to ASK for extra-lean....it's always lean!!! Great job, you guys! Needless to say this now, but I highly recommend it, plus my wife loves the fried okra and grilled veggies; they're always consistent--- the truest marks of an experienced staff and quality...
Read moreWent here do bbq . food wasn't very fresh and was a little expensive. Took my husband and 3 year old and it just felt a little chaotic inside. With it being our 1st visit here we walked in and didn't understand exactly how this place functioned . when we walked in there is a food bar and menu above that which the cashier at the end is where you place your order and then another person will get some of your items off of that food bar at register and some of the food is made or finished up in the back. You place the order and wait for it up there around the register then once you get your food you go find your own table and sit down to eat. I got the bbq pork sandwich and it wasn't the kind I've ever eaten before it was pulled pork but also had the fatty like chunks in it. I'm from Tn and it was just a different style I guess. My sons fries were hot but not fully cooked.....hours later I was very sick and ended up with food poisoning.I won't be back to this...
