Me and my husband walked in today (Saturday at 4pm - nov 10) to a completely empty store. All the employees were sitting and eating in a booth in the back and not one of them greeted us when we walked in. I mention that it was empty because not one employee verbally acknowledged us and they barely looked our way when we walked in. It's not as if the place was slammed with guests or anyone was cleaning or cooking anything.
The entire place was silent until we walked in. I don't take issue with employees taking time to eat if it's slow, but to not even care that two paying customers came in is unacceptable. We stood around for about a couple of minutes waiting for the employees to get up and let us know that they'd take our orders shortly, but they never did. The most they did was look back at us, and I'm not sure if they thought our presence was an annoyance or they were waiting for us to come to them.
We walked out and saw them staring us down until we got into our car. The looking back/staring continued when we were in our car (we parked in front of the giant windows, in clear view of the sitting workers) until we drove off. Overall it was an extremely unpleasant and AWKWARD situation. Please get new employees, or encourage your current employees to take pride in their work or train them in customer service because there...
Read moreWe stopped here on our way to South Carolina. 1130 at night . Place looked like they must have just been packed as almost every table was still in need of service, and the staff looked like they had just put in work. Wasn't expecting anything special. However, our server Aimee was just as pleasant as can be and took time with the menu. This is my wifes first time inside a Waffle House, and she was happy. This little diner has that quaint feeling and great food. The staff seemed like they were family even though we knew it wasn't the case. They bantered back and forth with each other in a manner that made us feel like we were part of that family and just hanging out. At midnight, they sang happy birthday to my wife and even put the song on the juke box. This location is a shining star right off I-95. We will be back for the good vibes...
