Big Lots — Local services in Lumberton

DAWN… Absolutely horrible customer service! This “Manager” couldn’t even take the time to look into my rewards to assist me with finding my $1500 receipt for furniture. She simply told me without a pickup slip I wouldn’t be able to get my furniture.

Dawn was short with me and very unprofessional. Upon returning to the store after an unsuccessful attempt to find the pickup slip that was printed from the computer that she refused to look into, Mrs. Ebony took my receipt and completed my order. Thanks Ebony!

But the utter lack of willingness to help me is blatant disrespect on so many levels. I’m a General Contractor that walked into the store after work, dirty and cold. The appearance of someone fitting this description led DAWN to even remind me that people “come up here and try to get things that don’t belong to them, which is what we are trying to prevent.” How dare you disrespect me and insinuate that I am attempting to do such!

I went to Big Lots in Laurinburg and in Lumberton. I am shopping for a mattress and a recliner. I was very impressed with both stores. I was amazed to know they carry the Broyhill brand. Broyhill has a reputation of good quality furniture. I am 64 and Broyhill was the furniture everyone in our area wanted. I was also impressed with their selection of mattress. The only reason I did not purchase the recliner I like was it was a light almost white grey. It could not be ordered in another color. Wow something else you may be interested in. Absolutely the worst experience from the furniture dpt. The lady was everything but customer friendly. Wasn’t concern to rectify a problem and I have a case with corporate and waiting on a phone call. The level of rudeness was beyond what I could ever imagine especially that I had driven over an hour and called before I went. I’ll stick to my local big lots from now on if I go back. Maybe the $2000 I’ve spent the past few months would be appreciated elsewhere.
