For the last four or five months I've had lunch here once a week between 12pm and 1pm. Last Friday, I waited to go have lunch here when I got off and got my kids. We arrived around 5;30. I ordered the lunch ACP (same thing I ordered once a week for many weeks.) The ACP I was served did not have even one whole piece of a grain of rice on the plate. The rice looked like it had been placed in a blender before it was put on a plate. It was equivalent to mashed potatoes. It was disgusting. I wouldn't have fed it to my dogs. When I called the waitress over (same lady that sees me every week) and asked her why it looked like that... she said "maybe it's too much cheese." I said miss I come in here once a week every week, this is not what the dish should look or taste like. She asked if I wanted it remade and I said no, why would I want you to remake something you could have brought out to me the right way the first time. She then came back to the table and had the audacity to ask if I still wanted to order something to go, HELL NO! They have lost my business with the disrespect they served. There's too many other authentic Mexican restaurants in Lumberton to be giving second chances...
Read moreDriving home from Florida we stayed in Lumberton and looked for a Mexican Restaurant. There were a few close to our motel. We drove to one and walked inside and it just didn’t feel good. So we ended up at El Rio Grande. A friend met us there for dinner. It’s in a strip mall so it has lots of parking but no aesthetics. The food was good with a large selection to pick from. It seems to have a good local following. There was one group of about 20 people sitting at a long table.
The service was great. The server came over many times to check if we needed anything. While they had an alright selection of tequila they didn’t have any bubbly water (Topo Chico, Pelegrina) so we asked if we could bring some in to mix our own drinks. We ordered four shots of Casamigos Tequila and asked for 3 glasses with ice and some lime. We made ranch waters (muddled lime, tequila, Topo Chico) at our table.
It turned out to be...
Read moreMy husband and I went here tonight for dinner. We’ve gone here several times with no complaints until now. The service of our waitress, Brandy, was not good. We asked her to give us a couple of minutes to look over the menu in case we wanted to try something new and a couple of minutes ended up being way longer than need be. When we received our food, my taco salad was floating in queso and my husbands meat was extremely salty. The overall quality of our food was not up to the price that we paid for it. She never once came to check on us, refill or water or anything until she came to give us our check. When we got up to go pay, we had to wait 5 minutes at the counter while the waiters and waitresses just kept walking by, seeing that we’re standing there but continuing on about their business. We will not be coming back to order at this restaurant after the service and discrimination that we felt...
