Stonewater Tavern — Restaurant in Lutz

We have eaten here many times even before it became Stonewater Tavern. Every visit was good with no problems. However, this last Saturday, March 22nd, was one of the worst experiences we had at this restaurant. Long story short, we were there at least two hours because our server seemed to have abandoned us. Once seated, our server (a young man), took our order, then disappeared far longer than normal. After about 25 mins., we got our food delivered by someone else. Food was pretty good. We finished our lunch in about 45 mins. and waited for our server to at least come over and see if we needed anything. No show. We waited for a good 20 mins. and finally had to ask another server if she could either find him or if she could give us our bill. She gave us our bill right away. Our server never came by, so we did not tip him. We have never had to wait so long for our food or had a server disappear...

We live very close by and were excited to see new ownership. The food was good, but a little over priced. The drinks were also a little over priced. We went on Thursday night specifically to watch the NFL football game but they did not have access to the football game. The environment is clean but too bright. We met the manager, Sage, and he was friendly but did not go out of his way to let us know about the football game or make us feel all that welcome. We might go back, but we might not. $100 with tip for two of us on a Thursday night seems a little over the top. We got one appetizer. One entree that we shared and two drinks each....

A friend and I had recently visited Stonewater Grille and it was great. We thought we’d try this one on Vandyke as it is closer. The food was a disappointment as the chicken quesadillas was very bland, no cheese or so little there was no taste, no vegetables, shredded not grilled chicken, the salsa on the side was like tomato sauce. I would not order again. The Caesar salad was good, however; no shredded Parmesan cheese which I thought standard. The wine was very good and great price (All Day Rose).
