My daughter Piper and I ending up here at Old Man John’s Coffee and Honey House was pure serendipity - good luck in making an unexpected and fortunate discovery. We were looking for a coffee shop after church that also served matcha. A quick Google search brought us over Bunker Hill to this quaint coffee and honey house - Old Man John’s located on Main St., Luzerne. We felt peace the second we walked in. Great coffee and teas and cold drinks with pastries on the left and a shop on the right side selling honey, tea, soaps and jewelry among other curated offerings. Love the origin story of how the owner Lakota and her husband learned the art of bee keeping from their friend John. There is more to the story, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. Visit the shop and their website to learn more and enjoy the indoor & outdoor seating in their quaint shop. Great service with a smile is the best way to enjoy a cup of well prepared coffee or tea. I was going to infuse this with bee puns, but I have to keep this serious because I need people to understand what a gem this place is! The absolute sweetest owners give everyone who walks in the door their full attention and gratitude. They are artists as much as beekeepers and coffee brewers, and the creativity emanates throughout the honey house.
