Arby's — Restaurant in Lynchburg

It's been a LONG time since I've been to an Arby's, and this location reminded me of all the reasons why I stopped going there.

The food itself was substandard, on buns that were CLEARLY stale and quite dry as they hid the scant amount of roast beef actually on the sandwiches. You know those Arby's commercials that claim "We have the meats"? I'm guessing this location DOES have the meats, since they're obviously hoarding them from the prep line workers making the sandwiches. Those were quite literally the sorriest, most pathetic Beef N' Cheddars we have EVER had, hands down. The fries were dark (overcooked), tasted old, and had this nasty crunchy/chewy texture that said - SCREAMED - "we came from heat lamp hell".

On to the "service" 🙄... We had a couple of errands to run before picking up our order, so we placed the order online, anticipating our 10 minute commute to the location should be more than ample time to have the order ready... We went to the drive-thru, telling the attendant that we were there to pick up a mobile order. We pull up to the window, and proceed to wait 15 or more minutes before they figure out amongst themselves (we watched the comedy of errors unfold before our eyes) that they had given our order to someone else, so they ask us to pull to the front of the store...where we waited yet ANOTHER 20 minutes in the hot sun. Keep in mind that they didn't even have to ring up the order, since it was pre-paid online. Worse? It wasn't even busy on that day (Wednesday) nor at that time (about 4PM). There was us and one car behind us and a small family at the counter ordering inside. The remaining four cars in the parking lot (we assume) must have belonged to some combination of the five or six people we saw pacing behind the counter, which further perplexed us as to why an order of non-customized, standard menu items should take nearly 40 minutes to receive. The cashier that FINALLY brought our order out didn't thank us for waiting, barely made eye contact, and somehow STILL failed to remember a drink that is itemized in the oder like everything else. I get out of the car and follow her in to get the drink, which is how I saw what "atmosphere" this Arby's had. It appeared mostly clean, but the location was old and the main tells were the amount of cobwebs and dust that had settled on the Jerry-rigged, piece-milled tiles in the ceiling.

Should you have a nostalgic taste for Arby's, avoid this location at ALL costs. I can't come up with a single good thing to say about it, and honestly, I think you'd be hard-pressed to complement them, too, after this experience. If this location were a horse, I'd recommend puttin' 'er down for the...

TL;DR: Consistently one of the best fast-food options in Lynchburg. Food is fresh, staff is friendly, and the location is always clean.

Why My Rating (5/5 stars)

Food: Arby’s is already superior fast food, and this location proves it. Sandwiches come out hot, fries are crisp, and my order has been correct across multiple visits. Today’s meal was no exception fresh and satisfying. Beef and Cheddar with bacon... are you kidding me.

Atmosphere: Comfortable for a fast-food spot. The dining area feels open and well-kept. Not fancy, but a solid place to eat in or grab and go.

Staff: They have always polite and welcoming when we've been there. Service today was fast, and in the past they’ve handled small requests or corrections without issue.

Cleanliness: Excellent. Tables, floors, and restrooms are consistently clean, even during busy hours.

Price: Standard Arby’s pricing. Slightly higher than burger chains, but worth it for the quality and variety.

Final Thought: This Arby’s has become my favorite fast-food restaurant in Lynchburg. Steady, reliable, and a cut above the rest. Food: 5 | Service: 5 |...

My girlfriend wanted Arby's for dinner so to Arby's we went... When we got there we decided to go through the drive thru to avoid what we thought would be a wait... We order and everything was surprisingly correct...✅✅✅ We did manage to have a 3 car sit for our food which they made us pull up to the parking spaces and they took about 5 minutes in addition after paying to bring us our order... Originally we received the persons next to us bag but they lady was kind enough to stand beside both of our cars while we both checked the bags and made the swap to get the correct orders✅✅✅ We got home...
