While visiting Lynchburg we were told that this was of the best places to dine. We came on a Saturday night and expected a wait. The hostess told us it would be half an hour to an hour. 15 minutes later we got a text alert that our table was ready, which was a pleasant surprise. 8 minutes after that I was waiting to check in with a hostess who told me 10 minutes had passed since they had alerted me so they gave up our table. I didn't want to argue and was told that we would get the next table. The menu was impressive and they had some nice choices for restaurant week. We had a nice spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. The chicken tenders were large, juicy but didn't seem especially well seasoned. We also got the mango habenero chicken tenders, a restaurant week special, which were delicious. My wife's baked potato was cooked perfectly, but the sweet potato fries weren't very good. Our waitress was very friendly and kind but the service was pretty slow, and again I'm pretty understanding that it was a very busy Saturday night. There seemed to be a lot of confusion and poor communication going on at the hostess stand. I'd say the food was very good but I'd hesitate going back again because of the service.

Welcome to COVID Phase 1! Our first dinner out since this started, I was impressed by how comfortable I felt being out having dinner again. It’s been two months since I sat down at a restaurant, and I was happy for this to be my first. The menu was limited but we had no trouble finding something we enjoyed. Our waiter was fantastic. Attentive and helpful when a rare steak came out well done instead (they replaced it right away and took the entire entree off the check which was very generous). The food portions generous. The draft beer menu reflected the best Virginia had to offer. Well done. Yes we waited thirty minutes to be seated... but the time flew by, the hostess helpful, and with only about fifteen tables (yes only outdoors and 6’ apart) what do you expect? I will be back, and this comes highly recommended.

The location was pretty neat right by an active train track. Downfall to that is that it's an active train track so that means loud sounds. Other than that seating kinda made you feel you were in a box car eating. Don't know why they had quilts and blankets hanging from ceiling. I ordered the catfish with broccoli and a baked potato. Catfish was very good, nice and crunchy batter with some good seasoning. Now the broccoli was a bush for sure and no seasoning whats so ever. Joked with waitress about it and she commented that they do not season their vegetables at all due to older patrons that eat there. My girlfriend had some green beans and they tasted like they came right of the ground. We did get side salads and the freshness of those were to die for.

My mom and I had dinner here before a show on a Saturday evening. We parked in the rutted dirt across the tracks like most everyone else. Parking kind of sucks there unless you pay. They were very busy but the line moved quickly. I really liked that they put craft paper on the tables. Each table has a cup of crayons. Brilliant, simple family fun! I like playing tic tac toe and drawing stick figures so I was pretty happy initially! The staff was busy, efficient and super friendly. Our waitress was very young but absolutely wonderful! Drinks were refilled way before empty, and food was fast. What an optimistic start! My mom had the chicken pasta special, which she loved. I had the pretzel beef sandwich. It was a sad little sandwich. The pretzel bread saved it. The beef was a little dry and the barbecue sauce was a weird mix of vinegar and sweet, a little too runny for sweet thick sauce and too sweet and thick for a Carolina style. I was hungry so I ate it. The sweet potato waffle fries were really good. At this point, the service was superb and my mom's food was good, though mine had been disappointing, so I wasn't going to do a review because we were in a hurry and I didn't take pics.... But my mom loves tiramisu. And it was the special dessert. We had to get it. What a massive disappointment! There wasn't even a hint of coffee taste, not even a whiff of mocha. It was more like a Boston creme pie than anything, and not even a good one. My mom almost cried. It wasn't horrible tasting - it was just cake. Meh. Don't order it. Just save yourself the massive depressing let down of beating yourself up for eating something you shouldn't be eating, when it wasn't...

We had a group of 9 here last night. We had high hopes and due to the fact our table was ready right away, I was optimistic. We all sat down and our server came by as soon as everyone was seated and asked for our drinks. They came quickly. We ordered the food and those with salads with their meal were served the salad fairly quickly. It all went downhill after that. It took an hour for our food to arrive. The burger and sweet potato waffle fries my wife got were cold. The burger that I requested be cooked "medium" was burned so badly that it tasted awful. Both my wife and I were mortified since we had family there to have a celebration. We had full view of the kitchen where it seemed kitchen staff and wait staff stood and chatted things up all the while burning my meal and not delivering the food in a timely fashion. I think by that time, our server didn't bother to ask how our meals were because she realized the condition of some of them. Admittedly, some in our party had a decent meal, but other meals were cold. I wanted to discuss it all with a manager but saw no one who looked like a manager and by that time I had spent way too much time here fuming about the irresponsibility we saw in action. The bottom line, we will never go back here. If you had a good experience, I'm happy for you. Ours was awful and some serious manager/owner intervention needs to...
