MayLynn’s Creamery Downtown — Restaurant in Lynchburg

I usually have good experiences here, but today I ordered my ice cream on a sugar cone (as always). When I received my cone, it was a waffle cone. The server said that it was not a waffle cone, and that only the cones that they hand make are waffle cones. My frustration is based on the fact that she thought I was dumb enough to accept that as an explanation, as if the texture and shape alone didn't clearly make it a waffle cone. I told her that the last times, I was told that the thin wafer cone was the sugar cone. She said she was sorry, but she did not offer to correct it. I had not taken a bite, so it would not have been an issue to correct that mistake. I do not like waffle cones at all, particularly because of the texture, so I paid for a product that I had no chance of enjoying. I did not wish to upset anyone's day over a cone, but hopefully someone will read this and teach the basics of good customer service and...

Edit: I go here all the time, in fact, too often 😂. But I wanted to drop in and just rave about how wonderful their manager and/or owner is - I should ask his relationship to the establishment next time we speak, but the guy who presents himself as the owner and/or manager is a super awesome human being. This place will continue to see me and my dog for ice cream!

This little shop is a great find! We just happened upon it and had no idea what a jewel we had found. They have an extensive menu. The classics like shakes, cones, and soft serve compliment an array of trendy items like edible cookie dough, rolled ice cream, and bubble cones. Whether you're looking for an Instagram snap or a nostalgic old-fashion cone, this is the place to go! They employees are beyond great too. I had such a hard time deciding because they had so many cool options, but they were cheery, friendly and patient the whole time.
