Lynchburg Museum — Attraction in Lynchburg

This museum is filled with outstanding exhibits which characterize each era of Lynchburg history. There is so much information to take in, well written and sequenced, and thoughtfully laid out. There are parts of each exhibit which cater to different ages, and the staff had two difficulties of scavenger hunts which helps older and younger visitors both have motivation to keep viewing exhibits and keep attention spans longer than they otherwise might endure. The Lynchburg Museum is truly an exceptional local history site to visit. It is located in historic downtown. It gives a beautiful view of Monument Terrice.

At the museum, you can learn so much about the history of Lynchburg. There are permeant and temporary exhibits, all of which were carefully picked. The exhibits show all the diverse histories throughout the city.

A fairly comprehensive museum with NO entrance fee. Staff are friendly and informative. We only strolled the main floor which houses history, artifacts and art work from the Lynchburg area. A second floor is available, but they were completing an art installation while we were there so we couldn't go upstairs.
