I had the worst experience I have ever had since I have been going to Harbor Inn. This used to be my favorite place to eat. I received food that was clearly over cooked. It was a takeout order of Fried Clams(I love Harbor Inn's fried clams). I couldn't even eat them. I called the restaurant and spoke to one of the managers who forwarded the call to someone in the kitchen. When the person got on the phone I could tell they had an attitude. I told her (I found out later her name was Denise) that the food was over cooked I couldn't eat it. Denise told me I needed to bring the food back. I explained to her I live 30 minutes away and I wasn't able to do that. Denise said for me to put the food in the refrigerator and bring it back because she had to physically see the food. Denise said she was tge one who prepared my food and she didn't see anything wrong with it. I told her I get fried clams all the time and this was the first time I had a problem. I told Denise I would take a picture and send it to her. She said no I have to physically see it and show the staff because they will be written up. I told Denise I will put it in my freezer and bring it back the next time I am in Lynchburg and since she didn't want to see the picture I would post it on social media. Denise said I am so tired of people threatening to post stuff on social media. You need to grow up and act like a grownup. I said you didn't tell me to act like a grownup when you took my $18.99 for food I can't even eat. She then hung up on me. I called back to find out who I talked to, that is when I found out it was Denise. She never apologized the entire conversation was as if she thought I made it up. I will never eat there again. When I take food back I will be requesting...
Read moreMy family & I dined in @ Habor Inn on November 25th/3:00.... My Family have been going to this restaurant for years, especially my parents. The times I went to this restaurant. I always ordered the crab legs. They were either full of water or cold. One of the waitresses were (very) rude & she lied about why it took so long for our food to come out. I asked for the manager, then the owner came out to speak with me. Which was wonderful, she was very kind!!! The same thing happen this pass weekend with me & my daughter's crab legs. I even let the (waiter) feel how cold they were when I received the crab legs the second time. Which all they did was put them in the microwave. Spoke with the manager when it came time to check out. He kinda brushed off. I asked the cashier for another manager. She inform me that the owner was in the back. I waited for the owner, she never came out. I;m pretty sure she was busey. The manager came back to me & asked for the crab legs back. At the time my daughter had already left with them. The cashier asked me to leave my number. She never called or she didn't get the message. I now rate this restaurant's food a ( 0 )............... I had to put 1 star in order to leave a comment. I will be speaking with my family informing them of my experience(s)......... Thank you for reading this long essay!!!! Have a wonderful rest of your week on...
Read moreI was in the mood for steak tonight, and I turned to DoorDash. Harbor Inn Seafood came up and I saw the crab legs and suddenly -- I actually REALLY wanted crab legs. Then I saw they had a ribeye/snow crab leg combo for a reasonable price. The stars were aligned and I ordered.
The order showed up and ... no crab legs. I confirmed I ordered correctly. I phoned Harbor Inn and was prepared to get the runaround and to have my night ruined by hassle. Fortunately, that is not how it went down.
The employee who answered the phone was apologetic and helpful right away. Then the manager (owner perhaps) Denise got involved. Denise made sure that the error was corrected (it seems it was in 2 bags and the dasher only picked up one bag- not even Harbor Inn's fault). I placed a 2nd order just for the crab legs, and Denise made sure this didn't cost me anything, plus she added extra for the inconvenience.
The steak was cooked perfectly. It did need a little salt but once I added that, it was just right. Then when the crab legs arrived- they were perfectly hot and WOW these crab legs were 100% fresh and delicious. Man that hit the spot!
What could have resulted in a frustrated angry customer, is instead a stuffed and happy one. Denise should teach lessons in customer service. Maybe their profit took a small hit tonight from the mistake, but they've made a loyal customer....
