RISE Medical Marijuana Dispensary Lynchburg — Local services in Lynchburg

While RISE had nothing to do with me getting my "medical card," I am grateful that they have made buying flower locally and legally (sans federal laws), just as easy as it was for me to get my medical card, here in Virginia (the homebase place for my Twin, (driving her/our van in the picture) and I.) You might have seen us in the "hippy van" aka #worldpeacevan pulling in or out of this parking lot.

The staff are all very friendly, quite relaxed, and ready to help answer questions or direct you and connect you to who can. Be it physical pain relief or mental health care, they've been ready to point people in a good direction! No judgments beyond product customer reviews and personal preferences from their own experiences. ♥️

As far as the products go, I have shopped around in a mostly modest budget, with heavy preference toward flower/bud and prerolls, though I have tried a couple vape options too, and gummies once with much satisfaction and enjoyment!

I can say that most all of the strains I have enjoyed, (hybrid and indica mostly) they are dry and crumbly. I personally love it this way, but I deduce it may be because I have experimented with making the most of what I buy and dry dusty weed needs less fire to smoke, which means burning less as a bowl smoker (smoking from a glass bowled pipe) I can just put flame NEAR the crushed/dusty bud in my bowl and draw the heat to the dust with my inhale, to get it smoking... afterall it's the smoke I want to taste and feel expand in my lungs a little bit. A deep dusty bowl smoked this way can last a modest smoker, all day, while someone like me might smoke a few a day, depending on the day.

Anyroad, I am still warming up to the idea of reviewing flower/buds/prerolls, so for now I will say not to be afraid to mix and match and FEEL out your favorites --- always best to allow yourself more than one, as stock changes and lapses in availability of specific strains here and there, is normal, as they adjust to changing demands. Everyone else's judgments only have the power or weight you give them, so, you are your best source of learning what serves your needs best!

Last, but not least! ONLINE ordering.

I didn't want to at first. My homebase is so nearby, I felt like I could walk in and shop faster... but, then I signed up on my phone and tried it, and use it every time now!.. well, except that last hour they're open.. then it's best to just go walk in, because the pickup windows are currently in 1 hr blocks.

So, after 5pm Mon-Thursday and Saturday, walk in shopping (knowing what you want already) is fastest. On Friday, you can online order until 6pm, after that, just walk in... or drive thru, they do have one! I have never used it. I like walking in and saying "Aloha" to them!

Aside from the good vibes, good flowers, and good people, I really like their reward program! I enjoy the $ off for bringing my RISE bag in and I enjoy the points which lead to dollars off future orders, on everything I buy! It's win-win!

Having purchased from different dispensaries in Florida, Illinois, Colorado, and California, I find the staff here a kinda home-grown personability! We're all people on journeys, improving our lives around this product. It's a business, yes, but I never feel like I am talking to business people, so much as knowing and helpful people, and I like that far better than the alternative!

Their prices are fairly on par for emerging markets and also available on discount for specific products at specific opportunities (of which I have also enjoyed some of!)

Come July 1st 2022, you won't need a state approval registration to shop here as a new customer, you'll only need the certification from the doctor or mental health professionals who can verify it's a good choice for you to explore (or continue more "legally," as was my case... in as little as a few days... and if you're not sure where to start with that, I recommend the search words "Cannabis MD" and decide for yourself from there.)

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING RISE DISPENSARIES:

Howdy! I'm FINALLY moving out of the state so i can be completely frank and honest about Rise...

first off, PROS: Decently friendly counter staff. Some more than others. Some of the staff has been downright charming! (just wish they had an actual expert on the science of marijuana...at least pretend you're not purely commercial) The new store is gorgeous!

CONS:

OVERPRICED AS ALL GET OUT!!! Good Lord, maybe some of you have never shopped for medical marijuana before so let me spill the beans: Rise prices are nothing short of the most criminal kind of extortion. Extorting people who get their medicine from you. Out of EVERY other medical dispensary I've been to in states across the country and even some dispensaries in OTHER countries, none of them are even HALF the price of this place. Most of them are a quarter of the price, and generally they WANT to help you save money because they WANT you to get your medicine at an affordable price. Because that's what good humans do for each other...and somehow these honest folks are still make a killing in the profit margins. If they can, why can't RISE??!! :D

For instance, a 1 gram distillate cartridge is $95 here!! $95 for a gram of concentrate!!! NOT EVEN ROSIN!? Not to mention the bubble of air at the top is consistently big enough that almost all the carts I've purchased here have definitely contained 0.9 grams, same for the half gram cartridges, .4, not .5. The same thing goes for their flower. It's always super dry discount rack type bud and it's full of stems and dead weight. I mean seriously. I'm not screwing around with you. Buy their product and SEE FOR YOURSELF. You won't buy again if you don't absolutely have to.

I think the most I have ever paid for a gram cartridge EVEN IN RECREATIONAL stores was $45, and that was a couple years ago. JUST outrageous. Oh and their latest SALE was $200 for 21 grams of top shelf flower.... are you kidding me? I'd rather drive to Colorado and grab an ounce of top shelf exotic from a farmer for $150 No one that works here is an actual marijuana expert/scientist (at least not from my handful of visits and conversations). No one. Rise is a convenience and you pay for it dearly. I mean, this is America and they have a monopoly on the Lynchburg market so naturally they don't have to be the best or be fair...they just have to exist and take people's money...

SO IN CLOSING, I HAVE TO MAKE SOME ALLOWANCES FOR RISE: I do not know all of the costs associated with opening a dispensary and I'm sure the state by state regulatory laws could make it much more expensive to operate in Virginia than say Colorado or California. That being said, since Rise is generally 2-4 times more expensive than everyone else they should provide an explanation as to WHY their prices are astronomically higher than everyone else's. If you are passing along your expenses to the customer in a market that is entirely more affordable than you, it's good practice to be transparent with your clientele. I hope you're taking notes, Shareholders.

Anyways, buy your THC online or from a trusted source, ideally find a grower and buy direct. Make sure you always know what's in your product, and don't trust a dispensary just because they are "legal." These folks are committing highway robbery while they have a monopoly on the market. Even if it's "justified" by their overhead....it isn't justified for you to continue taking whatever is given to you without...

I’m grateful my first Medical Cannabis experience was with the RISE/ LYH Old Forest Rd Crew. My documentation was in processed by Aaron, who has a warm personality and sharp wit. The lobby and showroom were designed with a minimum of clutter, it’s a relaxing space to be.

An hours website research had given me a list of items I thought I wanted. Fortunately, I had the good sense to ask for a meeting with the Pharmacist. A Glowing individual named Deborah introduced herself and in the course of 10 minutes, helped me to understand which products were best suited to my needs. Based upon her suggestions l narrowed the focus of my purchase and saved $100. I Love businesses that balance Ethics with Profits. Deborah is an excellent example of this Successful Business Mindset and has created a Loyal Customer in me. I look forward to meeting with her again to fine tune my progress.

Also had the opportunity to meet Tracy and Britney, who were working the counter. Everyone was smiling, friendly and reflected well on RISE Dispensary. Well done!

Progress. My life is very different just 7 days after my visit. 18 Months ago I was hit by a car, my legs and feet were subjected to painful throbbing that no amount of Advil/ heat roll on could satisfy.

The first application of Muscle Rub 7 gel (wrapped with a compression sock) reduced the Pain significantly. I Love All the products I purchased, but this is the Most Meaningful.
