Phillin Philly — Restaurant in Lynchburg

New to Lynchburg and looking for great places to eat. I decided to try Phillin Philly on 2/12/2025, which is significant because overnight a 1/4 inch if ice took over everything. Still, Phillin Philly was open, doing business. I ordered the Spicy version of a philly - hot peppers, onions, steak and cheese. Also had a side of seasoned fries. Fries are crinkle cut. I drove about 1.5 miles to my house before opening my food. The fries were fresh and they were kind enough to through in a few packets of ketchup, which was greatly appreciated considering that all I had was mustard at the house. The first bite of the philly was very hot (temperature) and the spicy was just right - I could still taste the roll and steak.

The only reason I give them a 4-stars on atmosphere is because there is no where to sit in the building to enjoy the company of the owners/employees who all seem to have great attitudes and personalities.

Food and service were fantastic. This was my first time there and both the woman at the counter and the chef were very friendly and helpful. I got an 8" mushroom Philly & an order of fries. Even though I was getting full after eating half the sub, the greed factor made me finish it because it tasted so good! When I first opened my fries, I saw that they were seasoned, and regretted not thinking to order unseasoned the way I usually do. I was extremely pleased to find that the seasning was flavor without excess salt. They too were delicious, though I still have a few left. I just ran out of room for more food! There was a good meat/cheese/bread ratio on the sandwich. I will definitely be back. It's waaay better than any philly at a chain restaurant. Atmosphere is good for what it is: a tiny takeout place with one picnic table outside. It's very close to Miller Park, which is a lovely place for a picnic. They have THE BEST Cold Cuts in town/South of Philadelphia: I mean forget about everyone else! This is where you get a deli meat hoagie from in Lynchburg and "Turkey Ham" is just deli-cut turkey like you'd get anywhere with a turkey sandwich fyi. The bread they use is another reason they are set apart, it's unbelievable! They also have incredible Cheesesteak Subs. Every sandwich is made with care and Love. The owners are so much fun to get to know! You won't regret the quality of the food you get here! Call ahead*

I've been eating their food for 2 years* They just moved from a food truck to this brick/mortar location thus new reviews.

I prefer my 12" Turkey Ham Hoagie/Cold Cut with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, oil and vinegar, Italian seasoning, hot peppers (when available), and pickles. But you can have your's anyway you like!
