Crisp hickory leaves flutter through the tree canopy. Geese swoop down in formation to College Lake. In contrast to the pavement on much of the city trail system, Creekside is in a more natural state. Road and construction sounds fade a couple hundred feet from Lakeside Drive to be replaced by chattering squirrels, woodpeckers, and titmouse. Watch carefully for remnants of a 1940s era stone fire circle and BBQ pit closer to the lake.
