Where to start.. my daughter had crunchy pasta in here Alfredo. Her garlic bread was obviously a reheat from last night as it was hard enough to make noise when banged on a hard surface. She also had a side of pesto pasta, it had no cheese in it at all. (See pic) if you can cook at all, you know pesto has parmesan and pine nuts in it. This pesto was pure Basil and Olive Oil. The bread was hard enough to tear the foil in the bottom of the to go box. As for me, I had a Cobb salad, the chicken was the best thing in it. Although not enough, I'd say half a breast, also really big chunks. The salad had a ton of green onion. Enough that it was the dominant flavor. The ranch was very runny like it had been 'thinned out' to make it go further. It also lacked that ranch taste. My baked potato was a recycling from last night too. The skin was very dark, dry, it had also bled a brown color into the potato itself. It was also gritty like it hadn't been washed well. For the $50 we paid I am sorely disappointed. I doubt I'll go back. I tried it because I'd had door dash orders and it smelled great. I should have just had shakers like I wanted. I could have had food I knew was good. So much for trying something new. Just one more subpar meal in the Lynchburg area. Staying in a hotel, they also sent no cutlery of any kind, and not 1 napkin. No salt or pepper either. I mean, can I at least get a way to eat my lousy food?? Smh, a baked potato shouldn't break a fork.

Would like to start off by saying Neighbors is my favorite restaurant pretty much. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed! The reason I’m leaving a 4 star review instead of 5 is because I went Wednesday evening and ordered the Surf n’ Turf. Everything was great, except my steak sadly. I’m not one to send food back to the kitchen, and our server was great, no need to mention it to her cause it’s not like she’s the one who made the steak. I ordered the sirloin Medium, well… here’s my photo of what it was. Maybe the kitchen staff was overwhelmed but it was waaaay over cooked. I usually only come here on the weekends so I’m not sure if it’s different staffing or what, but mistakes happen. I am reluctant to getting the steak next time though because a medium well steak is pretty much inedible to me lol. But hey, my dog enjoyed it! Also we ordered a beer and wine and didn’t receive them until our entrees came, but if the bar was busy that’s understandable. Needless to say, still love neighbors but will probably order something else next time.

I’ve eaten at Neighbor’s many times over the years and have always had a good experience. Solid food, good service, clean spaces. Unfortunately a recent lunch went south due to a handful of issues with our entrees. It’s not worth going into detail but I will say it was one of the few times I’ve ever sent a dish back. On a positive note the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were extremely good, definitely the highlight of the meal. I want to point out our server did a great job. She was patient with us while we took a while to look through the stacked menu, and also when we expressed our dissatisfaction she was professional and alerted management to take care of things. The manager that responded was very understanding and comped the entrees, which wasn’t our original intention but was appreciated. Even though our meal was a three star experience I’m confident this was a hiccup and eventually we’ll give them another shot.

The service here is fantastic. Misty was our server and she was attentive and full of information. The manager was very nice and understood our concerns. Our concerns were centered on the kitchen. 2 out of 3 dishes were served cold, they were fried food, we mentioned the fact they were served cold and they went back to the kitchen. They sat in the window (open kitchen) and our food was there long enough to assume they were recooking the food, but no, they finally removed the food from the window and put it in a broiler? Or microwave? to reheat(fried food). It came back into the window, a cook politely stuck his finger into the food, to check for warmth I would assume, and the server got the food and brought it to us. The fried dishes were soggy, mushy and unappetizing, they may have been microwaved as they had become very rubbery. By the time we received the 2 dishes the other dish was almost finished and ready to be boxed to go.

The manager was very understanding and took this food away and off the check.

I am very pleased with the service and responsibility the management showed in dealing with this issue.

After watching the kitchen during my stay here, I think the management should retrain some of the cooks and reduce the amount of shenanigans displayed, and of course re explain the current sanitation guidelines of food handling.

I will return in the future, as they have a delightful menu, and I imagine if everything was handled properly in the kitchen, it would complement the rest of the staffs performance. Shinning A+ for service. A woeful D- for...

I was there for a seminar and 1) the hostess didn't seem to know there was going to be a seminar that day, 2) the room for the seminar wasn't ready--they hadn't cleaned/set up the tables, and only let the people holding the seminar in to set up after everyone else had already arrived. So we were late getting started. 3) The food was brought in early, despite the host of the seminar asking them to please wait. 4) Thus, they kept our food at the back of the room, letting it get cold... 5) The server that served our side of the room put my food in front of the guy next to me, looking at him funny when he told her that wasn't what he'd ordered. She told him that it was, and that's how she had it written down... He politely told her that, no, he had a sandwich, and she looked at him funny again. Finally got that straight, I got my meal and.... 6) It was sad. Cold, with pale chicken--that was supposed to be grilled, and sloppily plated. 😩 I'm not a chef by any means but...presentation does have worth. But, I didn't complain. Since it was a seminar, my meal was paid for... 5 ⭐'s to Tharp Funeral Home for taking it all with a smile and doing their best with what they were given. 2 ⭐'s to the restaurant because--at least the bathroom was clean... 🤷🏾‍♀️ Sadly, I didn't think to get a picture of my UnHappy Meal until after the fact. Edible! But very...
