Ate Lunch here. This was the worst "Mexican" food I have had in a very long time. I ordered Chalupa. What I got was sometime vaguely like Tostada. Picture this: We ordered water with lemon, corn chips that came with the meal were the only good thing, the salsa was watery salty had no flavor, no temperature mild, medium or hot..zero zip... nothing else came with this, no sour cream, no guacamole could barely tell there was any cilantro in it...My order was suppose to be Chalupa instead I got something akin to, 2 corn tostada that were soggy oily, topped with some bean paste, No noticeable beans anywhere fried or re fried just paste, topped with lots of very sad shredded iceberg lettuce, 1 very small paper thin slice yes I said slice of a mealy tomato about 1 teaspoon of guacamole, a minimum sprinkle of shredded cheese. I ordered guacamole so there was something to eat with it. That came in a tiny dish about 1 tablespoon not much more. It had no flavor. My meal was suppose to have been $4.60. When I went to pay for it my bill was $11.90...When I asked why it was because I asked for guacamole....
Read morePhewww okay… this restaurant is incredible. It is SET APART from every other Mexican restaurant in town in Lynchburg. Truly not just authentic and warm and family owned, but just amazing amazing food. When I call for an order, I live to hear the voice on the other line. The queso fundido is incredible and I get it every time The platanos fritos… oh my goodness. Please order. The portions are great and the flavor is like no other food I’ve had. I’m half Mexican and I have to say the food might be just as good as my abuela’s (lo siento abuela) and she would also love it. There are certain things I’m picky with and I dislike 99% of all refried beans. I could eat these by themselves. SO much flavor. Everything I’ve had here is wonderful, and my roommate and I are proud to support this place and buy from them as often as we can. If you’re looking for the best Mexican food in town, this is all there is in my eyes. I don’t think I’ll eat anywhere else ever again. I’ll be a regular as long as I live...
Read moreI've been going to this tiny restaurant for quite some time. The owner is a very nice man. He and his wife run the places, and it's generally a low-volume restaurant. There are times that a lot of people hit it at once and it can get a little slow, but they do very well for just the two of them. From time to time they have another family member come help them out which helps during these times. I can't say enough good things about their food! They make their own salsa (and have non-spicy for those so inclined). Their chicken tacos are awesome! The chicken is so very juicy, and the cheese they use complements it so well. My wife loves the "El Favorito" and the Chimichanga. If you want a nice treat, try the rice with cheese dip on it! The prices are incredibly reasonable. For a family of four, we eat our fill, including drinks for about $30. Neil Dudley is entitled to his opinion (no matter how wrong it may be!), but I wonder how much he's being paid to promote the...
