Gilbert's Tavern — Restaurant in Lyndhurst

Great local spot if you're looking for:

1. A place to bring yoru dog. There's sadly not many places on the East side that allow dogs. Gilbert's is all about it. They're trying to expand with a patio out back to make it more dog-friendly, but local regulations make it difficult.
2. A place to meet locals. This is definitely a local dive, but don't let that deter you. 95%+ are happy to talk to anyone and welcome them to the area, and you'll get a heartfelt greeting the next time you come.
3. A place to sit quitely but get good service. If you just want to be by yourself (but surrounded by people), and have a drink (selection is pretty decent for a dive); this is a good place.

If you're outgoing or introverted, have a dog or want to be around dogs - this is the place.

If you're a regular, the owner will absolutely make sure to take care of you, down to bringing in specific drinks that you request.

This place rocks!! The atmosphere is magnificent and the people who turn up here are fantastic. Never a dull moment - the specials are solid, the music is nonstop and the darting is both competitive and encouraging. Love, love, love this place!!
