I REALLY wanted to like this coffee shop. It’s so cute, the coffee is good and the employees for the most part are friendly. But the last THREE times I have been it hasn’t been a five star experience. The first time they forgot to give me pastry that I ordered to go, not a big deal, I went to the counter to remind them but they had just sold the last one. Again, not the end of the world, they gave me an IOU. That worked for me. The second time I went in, I ordered my coffee and pastry, sat down to read my book, they bring me my coffee (which was great) but no muffin. I wait about another 10 minutes thinking it may be taking a little while longer because I asked for it to be warmed but nothing. I finally went to the counter and asked…they forgot. Slightly annoying because there seems to be a trend, but I wasn’t in a rush and the muffin was really good. Now this morning, my daughter and I were running a bit behind for school, so I told her we could swing by Sola and get her chocolate croissant that she didn’t get the other day. We get to Sola, I send her in, after a few minutes she comes back out and we head to school. We get on the road, I could smell it before I saw it. The pastry was burnt. Like stink up the car burned. We were already in Lynn Haven School traffic so I wasn’t going to turn around. I’m not going to say I won’t ever be back, because it’s pretty much the only show in town besides Starbucks, and the coffee is good. But this last event with the croissant, really rubbed me the wrong way. You could not miss the fact that it was burned so bad it wasn’t edible, but because you were handing it off to a teenager you weren’t worried about making it right? Doesn’t sit well with me. I’ll post a pic of what was left of the croissant, my daughter had to eat around the...
Read moreIf you haven't been to Sola Coffee Bar in Lynn Haven yet you should definitely check them out! Why?
a. Their coffee is delicious on top of having some pretty "outside of the box" options. One of which being a seltzer espresso... it took a couple sips, but it's great. Personally I'm loving "The Bee's Knees"!
b. They have some great sandwhich options (try the "Pesto" it's exceptional) and always have some fresh treats available including sometime boxed charcuterie.
c. The atmosphere is top notch! Everyone is so kind, the music is chill, and the tones are very warm. It's currently my favorite places to sit, get some work done, and enjoy the vibe.
d. They have a great wine and beer selection if that's your thing, and live music on the weekends a lot of the time. They usually post on their socials when they do.
Go check them out and show this awesome local family some love!... even if you have to drive past a couple Starbucks to get here,...
Read moreIt's your standard coffee bar, good service, a small variety of seating options scattered around the room, some snack food options available (we didn't try any, so gave 5 stars as a benefit of the doubt). We ordered 2 coffees and a lemonade. The lemonade was great, highly recommend. We didn't care for either of the coffees, didn't finish either one. Mine had cardamom-caramel flavoring. Very interesting, but not for me. The other coffee was pretty much as regular a black coffee as they had available, and it was 'ok' but I noticed he drank less than 1/3 (he just wanted a plain, normal old strong black coffee but as we've discovered when visiting various coffee bars, most of them don't offer any such thing). Service was excellent and barista answered all...
