Himalayan Diner just opened their doors a few weeks ago, and I stopped by today to try their chicken momos — and wow, they did not disappoint. From the foothills of Nepal to the plateaus of Tibet, momo is the equivalent of the hamburger, and this place delivers it in its most authentic form.

The dumplings are perfectly tender and juicy, with the right balance of meat and vegetables. The cabbage and cilantro in the minced chicken add that signature crunch that takes each bite to another level. But the real magic? The sauce. It’s vibrant, creamy, and rich with peppers, turmeric, and a hint of ginger — the kind of sauce you’d be lucky to find even in Kathmandu.

First of all, I really liked this restaurant. The chai was way beyond my expectation. The lassi was really good, too. However, here are two things I wish they could improve. The main dish I got was medium hot, but it was less spicy than the mildest one from other restaurants. It was like home-made super healthy food for babies. Also, it took too long to get the main dish. I finished my drink way before I got it. When I tell you this is the best place I have tried, the perfect comfort food i have tasted with this weather.
