Hi My Name Is (Queen Icy)Hi My Name Is (Queen Icy)
Service is always amazing! We were 2 of the first ppl to visit Lumi during the soft open! Has some of the best bingsu we've had in Washington thus far, certainly puts snowy village to shame all around. I'm so impressed with the staff, they are truly friendly and operate in a team dynamic unlike some places that have 1 or 2 staff slaving away which leaves service for guests feeling lackluster! It has certainly become more popular since our last visit some time ago, which speaks volumes because they're doing things right here! Tables are cleaned and sanitized between guess, manager is wonderful she visits the tables in between helping the guests with orders, she genuinely wants to know that you're taken care of in anyway. Back of the house staff are quick and efficient, nothing ever missed or messed up. Atmosphere is beautiful and elegant, definitely picture worthy and insta worthy! šŸ“· Tables fill quick but not a long wait given that this is food you eat before it melts, but it's much easier to snag a table when you come in smaller parties, but of course you get families who come in 10-15 deep expecting to get seating at a dessert cafĆ©...let's use common sense ppl. šŸ˜‰ They'll get seated but when there is seating that caters to that amount of people Lastly, the Bingsu and bubble waffles are to die for! This was the first bingsu place that I've seen pair the flavored condensed milk with many of their desserts, and now there's a few places who do it, so they're definitely trendsetters here with the food. Their bingsu is fluffy and delicious (brain freeze is welcome here) and the ice cream is so good, the fruit fresh and crisp! We definitely consider ourselves regulars, for sure our favorite spot for Korean desserts and yummy beveragesšŸØ šŸ˜‹

We've been here several times so I feel I can accurately review this place. Pros: *dessert is always delicious and consistent *display cabinet is accurate to portion size and what you get *milk teas and drinks also delicious and consistent - I've even asked them to make me a hot matcha latte (not on the menu) and the barista was friendly and willing. Bonus point cause she did a great job off my description *staff are friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs Cons: *the staff may need more training on waiting tables (we've sat at tables with ice cream all over the floor, and or the table) *They're SLOW. Doesn't seem like any of them have been doing this for very long, or maybe need help multi-tasking *I see other reviews about waiting to be seated after you order, but no matter what time I've come I've never been seated... *not all staff are fully trained on the menu? Often see them repeating my question to one another? Ex: what's the difference between the cookies n cream / oreo? *They've brought my order to other tables where no one had their face mask on then my table... not very covid sanitary Overall would highly recommend if you want somewhere guaranteed to be good, don't mind a wait, and not a germaphobe.

If you want an authentic Asian styled dessert place, this is your stop. We had the "Strawberry Blossom" flavored honey toast and the classic "Cookies and Cream" bingsu. The honey toast plate is my personal favorite. If you're into breading that is crispy on the outside and has a soft honey flavored light breading on the inside. Topped with a scoop of strawberry icecream, garnished with frozen strawberries/blueberries (yum), and drizzled with condensed milk (extra $1.00) onto the plate that already had condensed milk. But the bingsu was not slacking either, with the shaved ice that is much different from what I'm normally used to; each scoop is like a taste of a cloud. Overall, a perfect mixture of flavor from the cookies, to the scoop of the icecream right on top of the cloud textured shaved ice, and the drizzle of condensed milk from the side order. For myself, I've went to a few specialized dessert places but they've never filled the diabetic side within me... until now. My favorite among favorites, will be coming back for more Lumi; just you wait.

To preface, this is not a bad rating but rather average. Compared to the likes of Snowy Village near UW, LUMI is pretty average and a good local place to stop by. It was particularly busy when I visited, but the service wasn't bad at all just took a little bit to order. Prices are okay but I think there is better value elsewhere, though would come back. It's not absurd but still something to factor in.

I was told that the cookies and cream bingsoo has ice cream and whipped cream on top of the Oreo crunch bingsoo and went for that option. The bingsoo was standard but relied on the toppings along with the shaved ice for flavor. Alone, the shaved ice was rather bland and the lack of condensed milk to pour yourself contributed to this (I believe there was condensed milk underneath, so had to do some scooping and mixing).

I was given expectations of the boba beforehand but still wanted to try it. I'd definitely come back for the bingsoo and other desserts but probably not the boba. Milk tea is alright but there was a lot of ice which watered down the drink quickly. Boba itself is super chewy which isn't a bad thing, but it lacks flavor even though it's "brown...
