Went there for dinner with my godmother last night and to say our service from our server Jorge was horrible would an understatement. It started off nice with him greeting us quickly and asking if we were ready for drinks. As we had not seen each other for a while we were planning on dining in there for a while so we needed a minute. When he came back again we did get a round of drinks but and later when he came if we were ready for food we ordered an appetizer. Well that’s when he was officially annoyed of us, even rolled his eyes when we said just the app for now. I flagged him down when we were ready for another round and the main dishes, he was very cold with us. When the main dishes came out they were brought by another server and he never came back after that until he came to pick up our plates and slapped the check on the tables! The restaurant didn’t close for another hour and we were thinking of possibly dessert or another drink. When he called him over and said we would like another drink he said harshly “oh I don’t know I need to ask” and walked away. We were so confused what we did to him to piss him off. Me and my godmother were the only Latino patrons at the restaurant and he seemed to be very chatty with the other tables so at that point we felt he was singling us out and again very confused because we are his own people. Well we then called the Manager Emily over and told her our concerns, mid conversation with emily he brought us our round “he had to see about” and proceeded to argue with us that we took so long to order and every time he came by we were not ready. I could not believe he had no shame in arguing with us even in front of his boss! The manager had a different server close us out and did say she apologized but I still felt like the whole situation could have been handled better and we could have at least got the last round on the house for being basically punished by our server for dining in too long for his liking. The food was actually good and so was the atmosphere but it’s a shame Jorge ruined the overall experience. I would not recommend dining in especially if you are a Latino and expect to be there for a nice...

I won’t be going back here anytime soon. I was excited to experience this new restaurant. We have many Italian options and the reviews said best in the area so my daughter who loves Italian and I decided to go. We were seated literally two feet from the double front door in 20 degree weather. Needless to say we were cold every time guests left and arrived. If their doors are going to open to the entire restaurant (which is one room) they need to put drapes in the vestibule or something to block the cold air for patrons. My daughter liked the meatball appetizer which we’d give an A-. It was somewhat moist but the sauce really made it. She loved her entree (A) which was the squid ink spaghetti with lobster. That’s the reason for the 1 star. I ordered the Blue Crab (F). I asked the server to describe how the dish was prepared and he acted as though he didn’t know what I meant. He then said it’s ravioli. I questioned that because the description said shells but he insisted it wasn’t. When our food was ready the server passed me my plate and said it’s not ravioli it’s shells. My entree may as well have been Kraft macaroni shells with a cream sauce and perhaps some crab here and there and it should be on the kid menu not adult one. My daughter and I both thought our food was under seasoned and had to ask for salt and Parmesan. They brought a baby container of Parmesan and iodide salt. I was done. I won’t be going back not with other decent options in the area. GP won’t survive if they don’t remind their servers not to pull down their masks when they talk, season their food, and ensure that their servers have all been properly briefed on...

I had high hopes for this place. But it started out with us walking in and it being so loud that we could barely hear each other. There was a ladies night out with a huge table of very loud women and the sever kept telling us they were leaving soon and that would solve the problem. Once they left it was still incredibly loud. They need to fix their acoustic issues. Also we have a couple of food allergies in the family and it felt like most of the menu was pretty much off limits- very frustrating. The chef couldn’t even leave the flour dusting off the chicken Limone for a gluten allergy! My son did love his burrata ravioli (no food allergies for him), but we couldn’t even cut into the octopus appetizer, and the calamari was so spicy it was too hard to finish. Also we ordered our salad at the same time as our entrees and they all came out together exactly 4 minutes after we ordered it. Would have preferred salad first and then the entrees, and a little time in between to enjoy everything. For dessert my kids did enjoy the donuts but the caramel was so bitter they couldn’t eat it. All said and done if you’re going to spend over $20” for a dinner I say drive 5 extra minutes and go...

I'll start by saying this place is very nice inside but it was very very cold, so we asked to sit outside. We were here on Sunday, August 24th. First impressions, the greeter or bartender seemed bothered by us coming in and trying to decide wether we wanted to sit in an igloo or outside in the sun, lol. Once we sat outside our server and staff were very nice, attentive and were not hurrying us to leave. My Caesar salad was good except for the croutons seemed stale. For appetizer we had the octopus and calamari, the octopus was overdone but calamari was delicious! We ordered the carbonara and it looked very nice, had good taste, but pasta was lukewarm and the noodles were on the thicker side. The pizza was okay, the sausage was on the sweet side and the cheese pizza could have used more sauce. But all in all I would give them another chance and bring a warm jacket. I gave the atmosphere three stars because I would not sit outside again, it was too loud with the cars and the train.

GP Italiano came out to the local cocktail bar Opry Provisions (in Western Springs - not far away) this past weekend to cook food for patrons catching the Bears game (like we did). Everything we had was amazing! The spicy pizza was cooked right in the mobile wood-fire pizza oven and came out superb. We also tried some of the brats which were tasty. The wife, however, says the gem of the game-day cooking were the fresh cooked hot wings. There was some magic going on in that wood fire grill and we had to get two rounds of wings -- as they were that amazing. Hoping that GP Italiano makes it a weekly occurrence of showing up at Opry Provisions! We will be returning if so!

I absolutely love this guy’s fast casual restaurant, so needed to give this spot a whirl. The food is on the upsides of decent into pretty good, the space is really pretty, and the menu is tight but plentiful options. The thing most lacking was service. On the slower side and just an overall vibe of disinterest. I also think they were short staffed for a Thursday night, it seemed there was only one waiter. I would go again, but would hope for little higher sense of engagement and urgency from FOH.
