DO NOT eat lunch here if you only have an hour. You need 2-3 hours? This place was filled with men having liquid lunch. We ordered baked french onion soup. It took forever. I asked waitress for crackers and her response was " there's bread in the soup". I don't care if there's a half a loaf in there, I wanted crackers and she never brought them. First and foremost she never should have said that. Secondly she should have brought them to me. And btw the soup was tasteless. It looked as though they served us au jus with onions and BREAD and cheese baked on top. I've never had french onion soup with bay leaves? I continuously was salting it to have any flavor. Half way through I gave up. STILL waiting for my crackers. I read some of the other reviews and have to agree, if you are not a regular fixture in this time capsule, forget it! The waitress was rude and the food is unremarkable. I'm actually surprised this place is still in business. Maybe dinner time is different? The lunch experience was an absolute disgrace. And as the waitress told another reviewer that she didn't care what he wrote, people will still be hungry and come here! Well, that's true, but if my review just stops one person from coming here and wasting their money and a whole lot of time, I'm a happy person!!

Great old school restaurant serving some awesome steaks, pastas, chicken limone, chicken piccata, seafood, prime rib, cheeseburgers, amongst other great American favorite dishes. The only issue is that they are not open every day, and they also have limited hours as well. When you walk into this place, you feel like you're stepping back into the 70's or early 80's, minus all of the cigarette smoke. The place is slightly dark and dated, with lots of old style Tiffany lamps and stained glass windows and a few slot machines by the bar area, so you can try your luck. The staff is friendly and they seem to know most of their clientele by first name. I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, great service and the awesome food. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu, also a juicy prime rib.

Definitely an old school steak house. On the original old Route 66. The very last place on the right East of Route 45. A family owned and operated steak house with everything fresh and prepared by family. Staff apparently are hired and just become family. Regular customers know that they love this place and keep coming back week after week. Expect to pay approximately $30.00 for your entree. One of the very last family owned old Route 66 establishments still around in the original location. Everything is exactly as it was originally. Historical maybe but definitely a peek into the past.

Yesterday was a very special day. Rarely do I have a day off and manage to take my parents out for dinner. We chose Saban's. And no more than 5 seconds upon coming in the door were greeted by an amazing young woman who seemed like she had just finished taking a tables order, She welcomes us and asks if we have a preference on where we would like to be seated. We chose the back dining area not aware that she was also going to be our server, and now became responsible for multiple tables on opposite sides of the restaurant. But it hardly phased her. She told us her name was Amelia and and was by far the most amazing and kind human we've ever met. And easily the greatest server imaginable. She knew the menu inside and out. Had a 1 of a kind personality, the most bright and sincere smile possible, walked and talked with pride and a confident swagger, her apron and uniform was spotless, even at 1 point after she dropped off our salads and soup my mother comments upon her perfectly manicured nails and how someone that runs around all day somehow managed to be so clean and how she even smelled like heaven. Not a single time did any of our 3 water glasses go under half full before she was right there to refill them. At 1 point a 5 top was seated nearby and she took them on as well. Plus any tables she may have had in the front. And it didn't phase her whatsoever. We were still treated like we were all that mattered. All 3 of us ordered ribs. The messiest possible entrée anyone could order, which all 3 of em came out identical. Not 1 errant drop of sauce along the rim of the plate. 3 fresh non wilty sprigs of parsley placed perfectly at 5 o'clock on the plate as a garnish. Showing how passionate both the chefs are and the person running expo. The only disappointment I have is that Google only allows up to 5 stars and I couldn't rate our server 10, 12, or even more stars. I work at bar Louie in bolingbrook as the lead cook and spent most of my life cooking serving, or as a bartender and have worked beside hundreds possibly even thousands of people in this revolving door business that is the restaurant industry and never once was lucky enough to ever have anyone as amazing and seemingly as perfect as Amelia on my staff of teammates. Heck Noone has even been in the same ballpark as her. You have been blessed with a diamond here. A true 1 of a kind gem like no other. I would kill to have someone on my staff that possessed the talent of just 1 of her pinky's muchless the rest. I truly hope you realize how lucky you are and how amazing of an employee you have in the total beast Rockstar sweetheart that hails by the name of Amelia. I truly hope she also sees this and I'm able to impress my appreciation, admiration, and respects, but most importantly say thanks for making a really special and rare occasion for me into an unforgettable experience. And p.s. those were the meatiest and most flavor packed ribs I've ever had, best by far prior was KC BBQ, and world renoun places such as Gates BBQ Arthur Bryants, q39 and even Joe's in kc should hang their heads in shame after they...

Longtime staple of the area. Food is truly exceptional as is the service. While many reviews refer to this as a neighborhood place – and it is – do not be misled. The quality of the food is comparable to anything that you would get in any of the best downtown Chicago restaurants. We know because we frequently dine at such establishments. Yes – the menu is limited but that’s because everything is made from FRESH ingredients. As frequent diners, we have visited venues with extensive menus but always remain cognizant of the fact that many of those entrees will be frozen and micro waved. Not so here. And you can speak to the chef if you wish. Seafood and beef dishes are memorable Mixed drinks and wine are very good and reasonably prices. All the servers we’ve had have been personable and helpful. Even if you do not live nearby, Sabans is worth a trip. As I have emphasized in other reviews, if we do not support wonderful family operated places such as this, they will be gone and we will be left with “cookie cutter” chain restaurants and...
