First time at this location in early 2023 and this will be my last. Arrived around 3pm, wasn’t too busy but then a line formed out of no where. Still didn’t feel like rush hour, there was no vibe of a rush. After the family in front of me orders I’m up next. I was ordering for myself, my husband and my toddler. Just because the line suddenly formed behind me and got long that’s when I felt rushed and was not being listened to. I. Was ordering my first bowl and already felt rushed. I spoke up and gave a heads up out of curtesy that I had more than one bowl to order. The young gentleman heard me, repeated himself but soon forgot. We were almost done with my first bowl when the other gentleman comes to help, but before he took the peoples order behind me he asked me if I was going to have anything else, which I appreciated because the guy taking my order, had already forgotten I had more bowls. I said yes, two more actually a bowl and a kids plate. (Once again) They kind of looked at each other like why haven’t you started on the rest? But quickly started my other bowl. Now I felt a bit more rushed since two different people were asking what was going on what bowl. Still, I remained super calm and collected for a pregnant hungry woman being rushed. They were again almost done with my second bowl when no one had asked about my kids meal I decided to speak up (again) and mention my kids plate. The young man helping me looked semi shocked and annoyed but i didn’t let it get to me because I had done my part many times in letting them know what I wanted to order. The team was the one failing at working together and listening to the customer. I’m a very easy customer, I never complain and I usually never speak up when things go wrong. Finally I get all 3 meals. The staff even had trouble communicating with check out because they just seemed so concerned about the growing line. In their defense I think there could have been maybe two more people working. One helping serve the food for a total of 3 and an additional person cooking in the back. Because I’ve eaten at chipotle many times, during crazy rush hours and the customer service has always been better, more efficient and friendly. I think the team just need to work better. They ended up forgetting to top my bowls with guac after they asked me twice, whatever no big deal…at check out my total is usually close to $40 but I was shocked when it was only $25. They did forget my drinks so I spoke up (again) and let them know they forgot my drinks. So there was a separate transaction, again no big deal. After my family finished eating I dreaded having to go back and ask for a bag and a lid because my kid was forgotten 🥲😩. Any other day would be no big deal but again this place made ME feel like I was asking for too much. Even though I was just a regular mom ordering for her family. I am not even those customers that keep asking for “more & more” of the toppings haha. The man didn’t looked pleased with me, and didn’t smile or anything when he handed me the bag and lid. Don’t come here. Anyway order number 207. And thank you Tessa for being the only one that was actually trying to help during check out and get my order rung...
Read moreIts great that this Chipotle purchased the old Browns Chicken and tore it down to build a new Chipotle restaurant. The old Browns Chicken here was a dive but it was the only one in the area where you could purchase cold whole chicken in a box. The nearst one now is on Archer or Downers Grove but I am glad they built this new one.
I gave it 4 stars for building a new store in the area. The one in Lagrange at Lagrange and Ogden is always so busy and you feel rushed, rushed to order and rushed to eat so a table is ready for the next person to eat. This new one is much more laid back but they do rush your food order which is annoying when you're dinning in.
When Chipotle first started popping up, the were generous with the meat and didn't charge for extra meat or a few more peices of meat. Now they are quick to fill your bowl or burrito with extra rice and beans, lettuce etc but if you even half jokingly say to the line prepper to be generous or can I get a little more they say they have to charge you double. Double for what, 3 or 4 more single peices of meat? I could understand if it was 2 large spoonful but 3-4 extra peices of meat on top of one spoon scoop? I think not. It's even more annoying when you see the customer in front of you do what you're about to do and they don't charged but as you're getting rang up you are double charged. Chipotle was a cool hip and great place to get your belly full at a reasonable charge but now? Forget about it but that's what' happens I guess when a company gets too big.
Over-all this new store is great because its new, has outside seating for the nicer weather. Speaking of weather, its February and my wife and I are freezing our butts off. Its like they have the temperature set at 35 degree. The staff is friendly and its a clean store as it should be because its a new store.
Welcome to the neighborhood...
Read moreThis Chipotle recently opened up in our town without any kind of grand opening so most people weren't even aware that it was open. It's everything you've come to expect from this restaurant chain with the added benefit of it being brand new. It's elegantly built and comfortable to hang out in, and once it gets warm again there's outdoor seating as well. You'll just have to deal with the hustle and bustle of LaGrange road being within earshot. The food is great and always pretty fresh.
Here are the issues I've come across so far and the reason as to why my review is 4 stars and not 5:
The tortilla chips are almost always way too salty. I'm not sensitive to salt or anything but I'm pretty sure if you tossed a bag of these into Lake Michigan you'd turn the entirety of it into brine.
The guacamole is great but sometimes they leave large chunks of avocado in there that haven't been mashed. Not a big deal when in a burrito bowl, but a huge pain when you want to dip your chips.
The employees are always trying to hustle even when they don't have to. For example I would order two burrito bowls and the employee wants to know everything at once before they even start putting anything down. Lo and behold he/she would mess it up because they're trying to memorize everything all while flying through the whole process. There's people who've worked long enough at Chipotle that can do things quickly and efficiently and I have no problem with that, but if you mess up something every time you need to slow down a bit. They're all new with the exception of a few transplants, so please give them time to get things down. I'm not mad or anything but this is just an honest opinion. Maybe management is pushing them to move quickly.
All in all it's just your average Chipotle. I'm just happy to see my town have all of these new...
