This place gets one star because they clearly treat black people differently than they do white. It took them forever to acknowledge when I entered the restaurant. Then one lady got another lady’s attention and pointed at me instead of saying hello ma’am someone will be right with you. Rude! Then I order grits eggs and hash browns and a philly steak omelette scrambled instead of folded. The cook initially made it folded and I had to ask that it be scrambled as I initially described then I didn’t realize until I got home they left the grits off my grits eggs and hash brown plate when I came back she said that’s why I asked if you wanted grits. I said you didn’t. I later realized she asked if I wanted grits with the omelette. Which I didn’t . You know I wanted grits on the first order as that’s what I described . She argued back and forth with me . And was terribly rude even said she could refuse to serve me which really hurt because there’s no where else I can find grits in Town. Big whoop! . I honestly think the main problem was not the grits but the color of my skin. She had terrible customer service and this place needs to wake up and realize black people are here to stay and should be treated with the same respect as every one else. It’s 2021 get with reality. And learn how to treat your customers while your at it. Don’t go here. The food was also...
Read moreThis is an old time diner. We were in town visiting our daughter and looking for some breakfast. Quick, Google search brought us to Roxy's. We walked in and the place got quiet. (We are a mixed couple). Thinking the worst, we sat quietly. They asked where we were from. Within minutes the whole diner was in a, really cool, group conversation. I mean, like everyone. Great small town vibe. Yes, we went back the next day. There was a different crew and a new cast of customers. But, the Same thing happened. Everyone told stories, even stopping at our table to tell us things about the area or ask questions. The staff is made up from an interesting cast of characters. They blend perfectly . Oh the food and service was really good too. If you're in the area of this place, I recommend you stop in and grab some food and listen...
Read moreI loved my food it was exactly what I look for in a homestyle breakfast spot on the side of a back road.
Unfortunately the owner is not willing to invest the money & or time into brining this place up to an acceptable operating order.
Not sanitary at all; lots of flies everywhere. I get it - this ain’t big city living but com’on. There was even dead flies & dirt on top of the ledge near booth.
This review would of been 1 star if it wasn’t for the friendly staff & amazing breakfast food.
Me & my copilot were traumatized by the all flies, leaky ceiling etc but we stuck it out because we read the reviews - it paid off. The food was good.
The establishment itself was something out of a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Won’t be stopping by again but I hope someone transforms this place into the gem...
