We went to dinner at 7:30, realized they closed at 8:00, but figured we could eat and be out in time. There was a big party already there. 1/2 the restaurant had the chairs on top of the tables. We ordered and it took about 10 min to get our food. I had the black angus potato. I didn’t want cheese. My potato looked like it had been warmed up, you know that look. I had 6 cubes of meat(yes I counted because it was such a small amount). It looked like croutons on a giant salad. There was some red onion sprinkled around, not caramelized. Supposed to have au jus. Didn’t see any. Not good. My husband had nachos. He and my son commented on the taste being very similar to our HS football game nachos. They couldn’t finish them - not good. My son had a French dip. He said it was pretty good. I used some of his au jus. I got their famous sweet tea and it was really good. At about 5 min to close my husband went up to get us drink refills and they had already poured out all the tea. Mind you, the other big party was still in there. So he asked if I could at least get coke and the server agreed. We cleaned up our mess to leave, since the busboy came over to “help us” get on out of there. I finished what tea was in my glass and went to get soda. She had already dismantled the drink machine. Had to hook it back up to give me a refill. While I waited the other server commented that they were closed and when that happens they throw out everything. At this time it was 5 after 8. The other party was still there - around 15 people. I commented that when customers were still present it might be a good idea to save some of the closing until all were gone. She sniffed her nose and walked off. I really tried to be polite even though I was very aggravated. We had to unlock the door to leave - I definitely want going to wait on one of them to let us out. The other party was still there when we left. My bill was $37. Definitely not worth it. I will not be going back. McAllister’s used to be an awesome place. It had been a while since I had been to one. Won’t ever go...
Read moreI was serviced at the counter by a female named Ana. Placed my order and asked about their drink that used to have berries in it. Ana had no knowledge of the drink. She responds on am arrogant manner. So, it seemed a bit obvious that it was discontinued. I asked one more time to double check. Ana decides to have a side bar with another female worker, Elizabeth. Mind you, they're both still within my eyesight. Elizabeth proceeds to roll her neck with a nasty look on her face, stating what drinks were available. Should of had that talk somewhere else. I received my food and asked for both of their names. On my way out, I heard Elizabeth running to the manager, Nick, trying to save her behind. Let me be clear. I'm not upset about that drink. I understand that items can be seasonal. I'm disappointed in the attitudes of the two women who are supposed to be the "face" of the store: a waitress and cashier. Customer service should be reevaluated there, especially with Ana and Elizabeth. The food was great. Actually pro bono, which I'm grateful. But, their attitudes tanked...
Read moreThe food here is pretty good. It's not phenomenal, but a good tasty meal. I think it can be healthier than a burger and fries if you choose well. It's pretty pricey for a restaurant that takes counter orders. Expect $15 per person for soup, sandwich and a drink. It's brought out to your table once prepared. We discovered our table was less than clean, and so moved to another only to find all the tables on that side of the restaurant were littered with crumbs or small bits of debris from previous visitors. The wait staff was quick to wipe down our table and apologize. It was a rainy Saturday around 3pm and only about 5 people in to eat. Seems there dining room should have been much cleaner. Strangely, McAlister's keeps the paper napkins behind the counter so if you want them, you'll have to ask. We were brought 4 napkins for a party of 2. I was having French Dip sandwich and soup, and expected needing several more napkins than I was allotted. I made do with what I was brought simply because I didn't want to go ask for more. Seems cheap for such an expensive...
