This place used to have the worst reputation of all the Popeye's in the area. Rude service, employees stealing, orders not right, etc.

I'm here to tell you the new people that own it have taken out the trash and cleaned up.

I used the app and ordered a 2pc dark spicy, popcorn shrimp, and red beans and rice. They don't have cajun rice anymore which sucks, but whatever.

When I got to the store it was packed solid inside and out, with a line for the drive-in wrapped around the store.

I went inside and waited probably 5 minutes in line before showing the cashier my email with the order number, and he handed me my bag which was already on the counter.

I got back in the Jeep and it smelled like an old friend. I have really missed getting Popeye's. I went straight home and opened the boxes.

Instead of a drumstick and thigh, I got 2 thighs, which is more meat anyway. Win! Everything else I ordered looked fine too.

It was heaven taking that first bite of fried spicy chicken. It's the same ole recipe you know and love.

Oh, man, this is what happens when I don't check reviews BEFORE hitting an establishment. I zipped into this Popeyes because it was on the way to a friend's house was convenient. The drive thru was empty when I pulled up, but I waited to get my wife's order via text. By the time I pulled in, there were three cars in front of me. It took no less than 15 minutes to get to the order screen, just to be told that they were "out of sandwiches"...you know, the #1 meal on the menu? *sigh So I ordered classic chicken strips with fries, BBQ sauce and a drink. ANOTHER 15 minutes and I get to the window. The cashier tells me, "I have your order, but tell it to me again." Huh? This makes me wonder if they're so used to customers just driving away that they've stopped entering meals until the last second, lest they have to cancel the order which corporate tracks. So I get my order and depart, and when I finally eat my chicken strips, they aren't classic, but spicy AND there's no sauce. *sigh Never again, Macon Popeyes...
