One of the best pool halls I’ve been to and certainly THE best pool hall in the Madison area (and beyond). Amazing service. Amazing food. Excellent pool rates. What owner Larry Walsh has created in The Brass Ring is a true service to Madison and the sport of billiards for casual players to experienced players, and everyone in between. The menu is full of great appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The bartending is impeccable — I go there to play pool during the day and Emily and company always welcome everyone with smiles. I’ve heard great things about trivia nights as well but I go there during the day for lunch and time on the table. You don’t get much better than The Brass Ring. Come for the relaxing daytime pool sessions and lunch (tables are more open during the day) or the vibrant night life for dinner, apps, drinks, and a little pool or shuffleboard with your friends. Great for date lunches and nights as well.

UPDATE 03/24: Always a fantastic place to go for a drink or have dinner. Had 2 GREAT experiences recently - 1 before a local show, and 1 playing trivia - where the whole staff and the owner went above and beyond to make our time there great. Can't say enought good things about BR! Original Review - My wife and I (along with various friends and family) have been coming to BR trivia nights for a few months now and I can't say enough great things about the staff and the atmosphere! From Brandon at the host stand, to Nicole, Alyssa (both of them!) to all the rest of the folks at Brass Ring, the experience is always top-notch. Excellent place to hang and chat, play some trivia, or shoot some pool at their fantastic tables! Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere, and - MOST IMPORTANTLY - excellent service!

We came as first-timers on trivia night and had a great experience. We are terrible at trivia, but wanted to try something new. The game was fun and engaging and well organized. The cocktails were unique. Waffle fries were crispy and delicious. We had a chance to meet the owner Larry after trivia wrapped, and he thanked us for coming in and you can tell he really cares about the place and making sure people have a good time. We'll be back. Next time, for pool!

Great place to grab a pitcher of microbrew and shoot pool, play trivia, or watch a game. The food is good though the price is a little higher than the average pub grub but the quality matches. This is one of the very few bars in Madison that offers craft beer in pitchers which is amazing. They also have bartenders who make some great traditional cocktails. Their house invented cocktails have never impressed me, but they're also never bad, just meh. Worth the try if you're feeling it but nothing to write home about. Their mint julep, Manhattans, and gimlets are all great though. The wait staff are quiet but friendly and on top of it if you are at a table. They are pretty slow if you're playing pool. Not in bringing you an order but in taking one. Once you order you're good to go. They have great deals for playing pool at lunch and Sunday late in the evening otherwise it runs between $7-9/hr usually. The pool tables are VERY nice and are kept in good condition. There is also plenty of room so you seldom get in the way of other players and vice versa. The place has a classy but casual feel with lots of wood and brass but also large windows and a great patio where you can feel the air and have a cigar but not be deafened by the street or music. Inside the music is never too loud to talk and the crowd is older with no undergrads ever making it that far. There's a small elevated area that is great for parties or other more private group events. Larry is the owner and he's awesome. He does the trivia on Sundays and Weds and has a good sense of humor and really cares about his regulars. Overall a great bar with a great feel. Definitely one of the...

Service was terrible. First, even though it was early on a Wednesday night and not terribly busy they told us they couldn't seat our group of 8 because we were to large. Eventually they did push a couple tables together for us, but that should have just been our cue to leave. It took forever to get anything, and we had to ask for everything, including napkins, silverware, ketchup and refills on water. When my burger came it was well done when I asked for medium. I tried waiting for her to come back and ask for a new one because when I pay $14 for a burger I want it to be cooked the way I asked, but she took so long and I was so hungry I gave up and ate it. The fries were cold suggesting it had been sitting out for a long time. One person's food did not come, and after we got our food two more people joined our group and ordered food. These two people got their food before this person's ruben came. Eventually his girlfriend went down to ask the kitchen for it because it had been an hour. It had just been sitting there, and the waitress hadn't come and gotten it. We ordered another beer about this time, figuring we would be there while he ate his food. He finished his food before the beer came so the next time I saw the waitress I asked her to cancel the drink order and bring the bill. She took so long to come back to give change I walked downstairs to the bar to have them do it for me. I stood at the bar and made eye contact with the bartender 3 times and he never came over to help me. He also was not making drinks or talking to anyone. He was just standing there on the other...

"An evening at Brass Ring is an experience worth raising a glass to! From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted by the warm ambiance and the buzz of excitement. The inviting atmosphere is perfect for both casual hangouts and lively gatherings with friends.

The highlight of the night? The thrilling trivia games that keep you on your toes and your brain buzzing with excitement. Whether you're a seasoned trivia pro or just looking for some fun, Brass Ring delivers with challenging questions and a lively crowd eager to showcase their knowledge.

And let's not forget about the pool tables! Whether you're a shark or just starting out, there's something undeniably satisfying about sinking that perfect shot while enjoying a cold drink and great company.

But it's not just the games that make Brass Ring stand out. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and a recommendation for your next drink. And speaking of drinks, the menu boasts an impressive selection of beers, cocktails, and spirits to suit every taste.

Add in the cozy seating, fantastic music, and occasional themed nights, and you have all the ingredients for an unforgettable evening. Whether you're looking for a place to unwind after work or a lively spot to kick off the weekend, [Bar Name] has you covered. Cheers to good times and great memories at...
