Chin's Asia Fresh — Restaurant in Madison

This was our third visit to Madison in 2020. I've gone from loving it to being very disappointed. People have become less and less friendly and the customer service everywhere went this time was substandard...except Chin's (and Dahmen's in Hawk's Landing). The gentleman who took my order was very friend and patient as I was undecided on a sauce flavor for wings. He even offered me samples (I figured I dare not ask for that during covid, but I didn't have to). The food was fresh and good! The sesame chicken was too hot for my husband, but that was because he assumed it was like others he's had and didn't read the menu that clearly showed a hot pepper next to it. I want to like this place so badly. Location is great. Restaurant is pleasant and friendly. This was my second time. The Chicken Stir Fry with the Teriyaki option had ingredients that tasted like they had been sitting a very long time uncovered in a refrigerator. There was that refrigerator taste. And the chicken was unrecognizable—little dry woody squares—not like anything I’ve ever eaten. I was also given the wrong rice and my friend was given the wrong dinner altogether. I will try this place again hoping that they read this and use real and fresh chicken and hoping the veggies don’t have a refrigerator smell and taste. I felt pretty disappointed with the customer service from the female owner. She looked at me from a distance and let me wait on her employee to help me although she wasn’t busy. Yet signaled for me to move out of the way for the following customer that walked in while I waited for the first employee to help me. On top of that I was not aware that sodas weren’t included. And they started debating about the price of sodas and my order as if I wanted to steal 2 cans of soda from them, embarrassing me in front of other customers. Mind you I had tipped them on my receipt for a pick up order.
