My coworkers and I have gone to this place for years, and we have enjoyed our experience every time. Since we go there so often and often use our corporate cards to purchase items, we have to save the receipts. Of course, once in a while, we lose these receipts, and we need them in order to complete our expense reports. I have called once or twice to grab a receipt that I have lost during the multiple times that I have gone there. I always try and call during the off hours, because I don't want to disrupt them during lunch or dinner hours. I called on a Thursday at 2. I was told to call back when the manager was in at 3:30, so I called shortly after. They let me know that they would send this over before the end of the day. Perfectly reasonable. On Friday (today), I called back around 3:30 again, and I explained that I had not received an email and just wanted to follow up and asked if they needed any additional information. They put me on hold, and I was transferred to the general manager. This was the general manager on Friday, July 29th at 3:30pm. She was extremely rude to me over the phone and chastised me for losing the receipt. She told me that this shouldn't be her priority, because I should have just taken the receipt with me. I told her that I understood that. Only after her little lecture did she get the information, and she was able to instantly email me a receipt while on the phone. I don't remember her name as I was just stunned by someone being so rude to me on the phone for no reason. I love this restaurant, but I will be recommending other places around my area...
Read moreI have been a repeat customer for years. My family and I have come to Erin’s for every family event. Today I called to make a reservation prior to coming in and the lady I spoke with took all of my information and made our group reservation. When my group arrived the hostess told me that there was no reservation and that they do not take reservations on Fridays. When I spoke with the manager she made no effort to acknowledge their error. She treated me as if I was lying about the situation. She said she “doesn’t know why anyone would take my reservation when the staff knows there are no reservations on Friday.” The managers tone was very condescending throughout the duration of our conversation. To top it off our waitress rolled her eyes several times times while our party was ordering. A child in our group asked if she could come back to him because he hadn’t decided what he wanted yet and she rolled her eyes at him. Additionally, when the food had come I did not receive my meal. Five minutes later after everyone else got their food the waitress came out and said the kitchen “forgot to grill the chicken”. I have worked in the service industry before and typically attempt to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, however, our experience was too horrendous not to post about. I understand mistakes happen, but I was more disappointed in the managements handling of the situation. I am very sad because Erin’s used to be our favorite family restaurant. We will not...
Read moreI moved to Madison in the spring and was so excited to live by an Irish pub. I have been to this place for date nights, with my in-laws, when I have friends in town as well as for happy hour with friends. The food is good and I like the atmosphere. Why the 1star rating you say? Because the manager at this place completely disrespected me and my friend. We arrived at 5:20 for drinks and appetizers. I told the woman at the front, who claimed she is the manager, we will be having appetizers and drinks until 7 when my husband will join us for dinner. Her exact words were: “we are short staffed. I can’t give you a server if you are not going to order a full meal and will just sit around for two hours. Go sit at the bar.” We went to the patio and tables had a sign saying ask host for table. So we went back and asked to be seated properly whrn she rolled her eyes and said “we don’t do reservations on Friday nights. But fine, I will give you a table.” Which is ridiculous because we were not asking for a reservation. She just assumed because we look young and maybe not white that we will not be ordering enough for her to treat us like full humans. There is no other excuse for her actions. Everyone else was seated properly without asking them if they will order a full meal right away. It rubbed me the wrong way and is unacceptable. We ended up going to a neighborhood bar and spend $200 on drinks and apps. I am never giving my business to this...
