I recently had the pleasure of visiting Gary’s. Chris M helped my family and I find the best selections. I must say that his expertise and knowledge of wine and spirits are truly remarkable. Chris is an absolute gem in the wine industry, and his passion for his craft is evident in every interaction.

From the moment I stepped into the store, Chris greeted me with a warm and friendly demeanor. He immediately made me feel at ease and showed genuine enthusiasm to assist me in finding the perfect bottle for my occasion. It was clear that Chris possesses an extensive understanding of wines and spirits, as he effortlessly navigated through the vast selection available.

Great service, always keeping the place clean, nice staff. Staff is always recommending something new to try. Cheese bowl samples are there for you to try certain types of cheeses, but be warned, they go really quickly, so it's always best to go early. They close Sunday's at 6pm so if you have a plan for Sunday night then go early to get what you want. The sausages are flat out amazing and they are nice enough to give you samples of cheese to try at the deli area. They have wine tastings and sometimes they even make the delicious Manhattan drinks. I've spent thousands of dollars here and never once have I been upset with the service. If you are looking for extremely expensive liquor that runs in the thousands, well, here is your place to come. They also will order any drinks that they do not carry for you. Staff will always check the back to see if they have more if it isn't on the shelf, great service as I said. The Madison location has been my go-to, local wine shop for almost 20 years and their website makes it easier than ever to place orders for collection and delivery too (quite pertinent to today's contact-less way of ordering and delivery).

And while the wine selection and prices are fantastic, the craft beers especially from NJ are impressive, and the cheese and charcuterie are second to none, it is the people who make this shop so special! Rich I and Rick B in the wine department will help you find that bottle of wine in your price range as a gift or for your Tuesday night meal. (Spoiler alert: These gentlemen know great beer just as well as they know wine!) Paul and Rick in the gourmet department will recommend the perfect cheese. And of course, Gary himself and manager Dave are often about the store to help you too.
