Went here with my sister and the vibe seemed chill, but it only took about 30 seconds for that facade to crumble. The bartender snapped at me when I asked for a drink, THEN he spilled all three of our drinks on us by slamming into our table upstairs, getting drinks all over our clothes and shoes, cursed loudly and just walked away.
After I was almost done cleaning the table, he came up and cleaned up the glass with a very bad attitude, and said he would replace one of our drinks (even though all spilled, only one fell to the floor). He never showed up, so I went to check on our drinks, but he was already making other cocktails. Asked another bartender for replacement drinks, and he went to go make them but when yet another bartender brought our drinks, he slammed them on the table, we said thanks, and he turned without saying a word.
So not only was it entirely the bartenders fault for spilling our drinks, but also he was incredibly unprofessional, and then was obviously turning the other bartenders against us. Never had such an unprofessional experience at a...

My friends and I (four total) went on a Friday evening and could not get seating absolutely anywhere. Also, all bars should have security or at least a sign to make sure drunk people know not to take alcohol off of the premises - Gib’s instead prefers to have their bartender excessively yell profanities at customers when they step off of the stairs. I get that it’s common knowledge not to do that, but drunk people obviously need extra cues to remember. Finally, my friend had had too much to drink and one of us went to get water for her. The bartender made a rude comment about my friend skipping the line for water and then ignored their request. We just went home...
Read moreWhile the building/decor is certainly attractive, it's unfortunate the staff and drinks were not up to par. When asked about items on the establishments website, the bartender downstairs flatly stated "the website is out of date", and that there were different drinks upstairs. He then just continued his conversation with people he had already served and ignored us. We then went to the upstairs bar where the bartender was equally un-engaging (I don't think she said a word to us after "hello"). Watching the bartender make the drinks, their indifference was clear as each one was made with different amounts of ingredients. The lack of attention showed in the final product. I can't recall having a worse brandy old fashioned anywhere in Madison which is sad since it's since a basic,...
