Great Wall — Restaurant in Madison

Food is great if you like things burnt and so greasy you can't taste anything but 3 day old grease.

Honestly, it's the same cheap "Chinese" food found at every fast food Chinese place but somehow completely unpalatable.

Crab Rangoon had no crab in it. Beef lo mein had a bitter and outright foul taste. Chicken on a stick was so badly burnt my dog wouldn't even eat it when I tried to feed her some.

I order the same thing at every Chinese place, crab Rangoon, beef lo mein, and chicken on a stick. Every. Single. Time. This has been the ONLY time I've actually thought it tasted bad.

Save your money and just buy the same stuff they sell in the frozen aisle at your local Walmart, it'll probably taste better.

And for anyone who's unaware, these food items that are at EVERY Chinese place come pre-portioned and frozen, all they have to do is cook them. It's the same way you get your tater tots or chicken nuggets. Yet somehow, they managed to ruin it.

My family LOVES the Great Wall. Mostly because we live down the street from it. Our favorites are the General Tso's and Hunan Combo. The restaurant is small and rarely a dine-in place, but they're very efficient and fast when making a pick up order (give or take 10 minutes). So far I have absolutely no complaints about the food. My dad (who's idea of going out to eat is at a chinese/seafood buffet) loves the food more than anyone in our household. He orders from there perhaps 1-2 times a week (for the family to enjoy). I think it's a family owned restaurant because there are always 2 cute little boys playing behind the register. The woman who runs the restaurant is well versed at the front counter, and really friendly. Great mannerism! Honestly, this restaurant is so incredibly successful compared to the einsteins bagels that was located there previously. They made us wait for approximately an hour despite no one else being in the restaurant for our food. We had to grab our own menus as the hostess did not move an inch to assist us. It wasn't until one of us went to the front to ask if we had to order over where she was standing, before she finally came over to our table to take our order. I requested, upon looking at the walls of pictures of food (with text), a "Teriyaki Chicken & Steak". She accepted the order, no problem. She came over to our table over long stretch of time to check up on us. The food was brought out at different times for our party, so we had to watch our peers eat their food whilst waiting for our own. Upon receiving my meal, there was no steak. I spoke to the waitress, and she stated that despite the image they do not offer the combination and that she had "forgotten" to tell me. The food was lukewarm and lackluster.
