All I can say, is get to know Eddie while your in there, ask him how he got started, how long he has been a chef, he has a very interesting story to share with you if you take the time to ask and listen. The place is very unique and he can tell you about each piece of memorabilia that he has on the shelves or the walls, and they all have a history and a story. One of the very best experiences I've had eating out in a long time. So, if you love stopping in, little hole in the wall places and trying the food like I do, this is your place! If your looking for some ol' boring fancy place, it's not for you, and frankly, Eddies awesome story wouldn't be worth telling you. Let me just share one true fact with you that I learned while I was there. Eddie is recognized in 40 different countries, as a chef, and can cook authentic food from any of them. That should tell you enough right there, I'll let Eddie tell you the rest when...
Read moreI'll preface this by saying I NEVER give reviews. That said, I am this time. Totally unexpected and EXCELLENT experience. As my Lady Friend said, Eddie's first statement was, "are you staying or going". We said staying and he told us to grab a couple of drinks and head to the back and have a seat. The food and sauces were very delicious, but I must say that both meats didn't need sauces and they were VERY tender and juicy. Some of the BEST BBQ I've had in a long time. When it came to leaving, he said, "How about...", and quoted a MORE than fair price. I handed him 20% over what he asked since it was so good. Very unconventional, but...
Read moreMy merry band and I stumbled upon this place for a late lunch. It's quirky and interesting and will totally throw you off about just how amazing your experience is going to be. (Not in a bad way by any means!). Chef Ed was great... super nice and he just kinda set us up and the 5 of us ate amazing food. I think the pork chops might have been the best I ever had. Oddly though... even more memorable were the sauces. Everyone one of the dozen+ at the table was delicious, although the one that really stuck in my memory was the "apple brandy".
If you are in the area of Madison, IN, stop by this place. You will not regret it! (And being all of 5 minutes from Clifty Falls State Park's North entrance, you could probably get the best picnic...
