I spent an evening with my girlfriend at Madison Taproom. The atmosphere was enjoyable. The beer was merely Ok but the company was delightful. I had some stimulating conversations with like-minded strangers. It was a great time. I came here to give a 5 star review. After reading the comments made by the owner to other reviewers, I had to take 3 stars away. We can't stand for that kind of bullying in any form. I have a daughter in school who is mocked for her last name, bullied for being different. This owner is nothing more than a bully and a bigot. I will not spend my hard earned money at a place that is run by a bully in the guise of a progressivist. This is everything I teach my child not to be. Acceptance and individualism is what we value and sometimes that comes with a difference of opinions. For you to mock and bully people - your own paying customers no less - is something I have been trying to fight against in this country. You should be ashamed. I truly hope your political influence doesn't extend too far because I don't want people like you fighting along side me. I want people who genuinely love other people to be by my side. Like another reviewer so aptly stated...Toxic,...
Read moreStopped by Minocqua Brewing Company after work last week to meet a couple of college friends for a drink. Easy to find and parking right up front. Walked in to pleasant greeting and a nice little tap room with a small bar and a number of tables to sit at. Very nicely decorated and welcoming. They have a good selection of beers to try - and a nice variety of other products to purchase as well. We were offered samples of the taps - which was very nice, but I had tried a number of their beers before and was pleased with them all so I just got a tap of the Labor Lager. Nice smooth beer with a good taste. Later I tried the Grateful Fred Red Ale - also delicious and easy to drink. My friends wanted to sit outside, so we went out the back door to discover a very nice little fenced in yard with a number of picnic tables with umbrellas (that lit at night) as well as a few tables with chairs. Super comfortable out there and we had no bugs (which this year I tell you is a huge plus). Staff was super friendly and the place was super clean and comfy. I would return to this place in a minute. One of my new favorites in town....
Read moreMinoqua Brewing is an early Wisconsin microbrewery. It started as a restaurant/brewery, there has been a lot of history and stories with this brewery and means they focus on beer and good times now. Their Madison taproom had 11 beers on for my stop including a shandy, a weisse, mexican lager, American lager, pilsner, 2 hazy IPAs, IPA, Oktoberfest, sour, and a great toasty stout. The stout, the home away from home IPA, and oktoberfest were all above average standouts for me. They do rotate some seasonals so checking to see what is new is a good plan. The location can not match the original on Lake Minocqua but the service was friendly, music was super chill, they have a nice patio outside back, live acoustic music on weekends. Definitely a nice stop so don't let the strip...
