So good!! I've never been to any other location, so I don't know how it compares, but I really enjoyed this restaurant. It's like going to Chipotle for pizza instead of burritos.
There are a few set menu items, but no matter what you get, you can put as many toppings on as you want, which don't add do the cost. I got the "Dillon James" (red sauce, garlic, mozzarella, fresh basil, asiago, and fresh tomatoes), and went a little overboard. I added black olives and a ranch drizzle, and then I got so excited by the variety of topping choices that I somehow ended up with broccoli on my pizza 😂 But then, it was DELICIOUS!
The fresh ingredients tasted great, but the best part was the crust. A good combination of soft, chewy, crispy, and a yummy wood fired taste. I got the mega crust size, which is the 11" with a double thick edge. If you're a crust lover, or want an obscene amount of toppings, I recommend the extra crust. 🍕🍕
The place was packed when we were there, but all of the employees were super friendly and you could tell they were paying attention to detail.
As for the miscellaneous, there's an outdoor patio seating area, high chairs for babies, and bus your own tables. The music was high energy and turned way up, which I enjoy, but it may not be for everyone.
If you're thinking about going, give it a try! I know I would have a hard time sticking to my diet if I worked in the office building sharing the...
Read moreGood pizza; untrained/unprofessional staff and lack of cleanliness.
Tonight (06/30), I went to Mod Pizza at their new location next to West Town Mall. I have previously been to their Fitchburg location and not only liked the pizza but love the concept of no additional pricing for toppings, the very fair prices of the pizza in general, and the wonderful service. However, I am extremely disappointed in the Madison location.
The staff are very untrained and unprofessional. Food was not prepped, many toppings were out of stock, multiple toppings were mixed together allowing for cross contamination and an increased likelihood of allergic reactions, staff were kicking kitchen objects that costumers eat off of with their shoes on the extremely messy floor, staff did not know what they were doing, managers were not known/present, and staff were visibly upset/disappointed/and forward in their hatred of their job and the business.
Giving away free pizza to every consumer in hopes of continued business is not a way to run a business/make a profit, and it shouldn’t guarantee a five star review as previous reviews contradict and emphasis.
As a successful manager of a business, I would highly recommend hiring a trained and competent manager as well as running a health...
Read moreI LOVE Mod pizza and was super excited when this location opened. Unfortunately, they seem to have an extremely unfocused team. They seem to be too busy messing with each other to pay much attention to the customers or what they're doing. The pizzas are good most of the time. Except my last visit, I ordered a pizza to go. When I get home and opened the box I see that it looked it had been tipped before being cooked, most of the toppings were on one side. I pick up the piece with the most topping and realized it wouldn't fold because the metal number was flipped upside down and cooked under all the toppings. Sucked having to take apart my pizza before I could eat it. Went to get pizza tonight, more monkey-ing around but food was good. I gave the lady that wrang me up the metal number back and told her how I found it, she just laughed and said at least I didn't eat it. Well duh! I was more or less looking for someone to just apologize for messing up my pizza, but the mistake seemed to get blown off. I have NO problem with a laid back work environment, but a little more...
